Tim Duncan posted his 133rd playoff double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in Tuesday's easy 108-92 Game 1 win over the Clippers.

Tony Parker struggled with seven points on 1-of-9 shooting, but did have 11 assists in the win, while Manu Ginobili scored 22 points with three assists and three 3-pointers. The Spurs didn't pull away until late, but they look nearly unbeatable right now, getting contributions from across the board, while DeJuan Blair only got one minute of garbage time off the bench in this one.

LeBron James had 28 points, nine rebounds, five assists and six steals on Tuesday, but didn't hit a 3-pointer, missed a couple crucial, late free throws, and deferred to Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers on the Heat's final two possessions of the game.

Paul George missed two free throws for the Pacers, and then LeBron backed it up by missing two of his own, that would have given the Heat the lead. He then passed to Wade (24 points) for a late layup, but Wade was unable to convert. And on the game's final possession, both James and Wade (double teamed) looked for the open man and found Chalmers for a potential game-tying 3-pointer. Chalmers, who was, ahem, 2-of-10 from the floor and 0-for-4 from downtown for the night, missed the open look as the Pacers stole homecourt. Prepare yourselves for endless talk of choking, and keep in mind that without Chris Bosh (abdomen), the third-leading scorers for the Heat tonight were Chalmers and Shane Battier, who each scored five points. Uh oh.
May 15 - 10:00 PM

David West hit 5-of-13 shots for 16 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in 41 minutes as the Pacers shocked the Heat in Miami to steal homecourt with a 78-75 Game 2 win.

Both teams played a sloppy first half and missed a ton of clutch free throws down the stretch, but the Pacers, who were led by West's 16, will take the win any way they can get it. Game 3 is Thursday in Indy, and West should have his way again, as Chris Bosh (abdomen) will not play in this series.
May 15 - 9:47 PM

Ronny Turiaf will start in Tuesday's Game 2 against the Pacers.

With Chris Bosh (abdominal) out indefinitely, the Heat are announcing their starting lineup on a game-to-game basis. Starter Udonis Haslem will see a boost in minutes along with Joel Anthony. LeBron James will also spend plenty of time as a power forward when the Heat go small. In five starts during the regular season, Turiaf averaged 4.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.

Derrick Rose's doctor said he believes Derrick Rose's recovery from ACL surgery will take between eight and 12 months.

If Rose gets back at exactly the eight-month mark, he'll miss the first 10 weeks of the 2012-13 season. If he ends up needing the entire 12 months, he'd be targeting a return during the playoffs. Somewhere in the middle seems logical, but we won't know until we see how Rose responds to rehab. Rose's doctor added that the 2010-11 MVP "should" return to his old form, but it's not "guaranteed." He also said that a late-January return is a best-case scenario.
May 15 - 4:19 PM

Kendrick Perkins (hip) is listed as a game-time decision for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Lakers.

Perkins aggravated his hip strain during Game 1, playing just 17 minutes in the blowout. The Thunder will likely take their enforcer's status right up until tip Wednesday night, with Nick Collison and Nazr Mohammed as backup plans. It's worth noting that Perkins was reportedly cleared to re-enter Game 1 if needed. However, he did not practice Tuesday.

Mavericks agreed to a contract extension with coach Rick Carlisle.

Carlisle's new contract will keep him in Dallas through the 2015-16 season. Although the Mavs were swept out of the first round by the Thunder this season, Carlisle is the only coach to ever guide the franchise to a title. He's 198-114 during his four years in Dallas.

Kyrie Irving was officially named the NBA's Rookie of the Year for the 2011-12 season on Tuesday.

The voting was not unanimous. Kenneth Faried, Iman Shumpert and Kawhi Leonard each received a first-place vote, but 117 of 120 votes went to Irving. It was an easy decision given how good Irving was during his inaugural season, and the Cavs are hoping that he continues to blossom into a franchise player the team can build around.
May 15 - 10:10 AM

Russell Westbrook hit 10-of-15 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 27 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and two steals as the Thunder dominated the Lakers in Game 1, winning by a final score of 119-90 to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Kevin Durant added 25 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers, and both stars would have posted bigger numbers had this game not been essentially over at halftime. The Thunder were nearly flawless tonight, committing a total of four turnovers, with Russell Westbrook (one) the only starter to post one.
May 15 - 12:12 AM

Avery Bradley returned after aggravating his left shoulder injury in the second quarter on Monday to finish with eight points and two 3-pointers on 3-of-6 shooting in 20 minutes.

He sat out the entire third quarter, as Ray Allen started the second half in his place, but was able to return after having his shoulder popped back into place. It looks like he avoided a disaster tonight, but we'll have to consider him questionable for Wednesday's Game 3 until we see how he's feeling on Tuesday.
May 14 - 9:38 PM

Jrue Holiday had 18 points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals to lead the Sixers in scoring in their Game 2 win over the Celtics in Boston.

Andre Iguodala provided a nice all-around game with 13 points, six rebounds, seven assists, a steal and a 3-pointer, as the Sixers held on for the one-point win. Game 3 is Wednesday in Philadelphia and the series is tied 1-1.
May 14 - 9:34 PM

Blake Griffin reiterated that he will play in Tuesday's Game 1 against the Spurs even though his knee is "about 75-80" percent.

The Clippers beat the Grizzlies in Sunday's Game 7 even though Griffin gave them just eight points and four rebounds in a meager 28 minutes. He thinks he'll be able to perform at a higher level thanks to the Monday rest day. Still, this knee sprain figures to linger with Griffin throughout the series. Coach Vinny Del Negro said Griffin would probably have to sit out a week if this were the regular season.
