Welington Castillo went 2-for-4 and hit a two-run homer off Johnny Cueto on Friday.

Castillo hit .299 in June, but with just one homer, four RBI and five runs scored, he wasn't of much help to fantasy teams while splitting time with Chris Herrmann. He still figures to win out in that playing time battle in the end.

Jacob deGrom secured his first win since April 30 after allowing one run over five-plus innings against the Cubs on Friday.

DeGrom waited out the first rain delay, but didn’t stick around after the second one. Still, he enjoyed some rare run support from his offense while allowing three hits and one walk. The only run scored on a solo homer by Kris Bryant. DeGrom struck out seven in the victory and now owns a 2.62 ERA and 84/20 K/BB ratio in 86 innings through 14 starts this season. He’ll try to make it a winning streak with a start against the Marlins next week at home.

Jason Hammel was rocked for a career-high 10 runs over four-plus innings Friday in a loss to the Mets.

Ouch. Hammel surrendered nine hits, including a career-high five home runs. Two of them came in the fifth inning before he was pulled from the ballgame. The disaster outing increased his ERA from 2.58 to 3.45 on the year. He's now winless in his last five starts and has given up nine home runs in that stretch. He’ll try to bounce back next week in a start against the Reds.

Brandon Nimmo connected for his first major league homer in a 10-2 win over the Cubs on Friday.

According to StatCast, Nimmo’s fourth-inning blast traveled 442 feet, which is the longest home run by a Mets player this season. The 23-year-old went 2-for-3 on the night and is batting .280 (7-for-25) through his first six games in the majors. He’s bringing some energy out of the leadoff spot for New York and could be worth a try in deeper mixed leagues for however long he stays there.

Asdrubal Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and three RBI in Friday’s win over the Dodgers.

James Loney and Cabrera went back-to-back with solo shots in the second inning before Cabrera connected for a two-run blast in the fifth inning. This was his first multi-homer game since 2013 as a member of the Indians. The 30-year-old has 10 homers on the year to go along with a .262/.321/.421 batting line.

James Loney went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored Friday versus the Cubs.

Loney slugged a solo homer in the second inning before driving in two runs with a double one inning later. He’s now up to four homers in 111 plate appearances this season, equaling his total through 388 plate appearances with the Rays last season. We’re not banking on the power to continue at this pace, so don't get carried away in fantasy leagues, but he has been a pleasant surprise for New York.

Kris Bryant slugged a solo homer and drew a walk in Friday’s defeat to the Mets.

After going deep in back-to-back games, Bryant now leads the National League with 23 home runs across 77 games this season. Keep in mind that the 24-year-old had 26 homers in 151 games as a rookie. He’s set to obliterate that total in 2016.

Jose Fernandez played hero Friday by smacking a go-ahead, pinch-hit two-run double in the 12th inning as part of a 7-5 win over the Braves.

Never doubt the Marlins’ ace. Fernandez was asked to pinch-hit with two on and two out against Casey Kelly and he delivered by ripping a ball into the gap in left-center field. After doing damage with his bat on Friday, Fernandez will try to do his part on the mound Saturday.
