Cardinals recalled RHP Sam Tuivailala from Triple-A Memphis.
Tuivailala has spent all season at Memphis, posting a 5.06 ERA and 48/14 K/BB ratio over 32 innings. He has upside but isn't in line for high-leverage situations at this point.
Cardinals placed LHP Kevin Siegrist on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 30, with mononucleosis.
He shouldn't need more than the minimum 15 days, but it's a tough blow to a Cardinals bullpen that's wading through Trevor Rosenthal's struggles. Sam Tuivailala has taken Siegrist's spot in the 'pen.
Athletics optioned LHP Dillon Overton to Triple-A Nashville.
Overton was creamed for eight runs over three-plus innings against the Giants on Thursday, earning a trip back to the minors. Rich Hill (groin) will rejoin the rotation this weekend.
Curtis Granderson (calf) is not expected to return to the lineup this weekend.
The good news is that it's not expected to be a disabled list situation. The Mets have Brandon Nimmo in right field and in the leadoff spot again Friday, while Kelly Johnson is handling left.
Desmond Jennings (hamstring) is not in the Rays' lineup Friday.
Jennings tweaked his left hamstring on Thursday and is likely to miss a few games. Nick Franklin is handling left field.
Brewers sent OF Alex Presley outright to Triple-A Colorado Springs.
He cleared waivers after being designated for assignment. SB Nation's Chris Cotillo says that Presley is expected to declare free agency, although he hasn't officially made a decision yet.
Hanley Ramirez (side) is not in the Red Sox' lineup Friday.
Ramirez's side tightened up on him after a swing Wednesday, forcing him from the game. It doesn't seem to be a potential disabled lit injury, but he's not ready to play yet. The Red Sox have Travis Shaw at first base and Marco Hernandez at third.
White Sox signed INF Danny Muno to a minor league contract.
Muno was released by the Mets earlier this week. He'll provide organizational infield depth.
