Diamondbacks signed RHP Andury Acevedo to a minor league contract.

Acevedo will act as organizational relief depth for Arizona. The 26-year-old right-hander holds a 3.88 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and 147/102 K/BB ratio in 157 2/3 career minor league innings.

Indians re-signed OF Daniel Robertson to a minor league contract.

Robertson was pushed off the Indians' 40-man roster last week to clear a spot for Jay Bruce, but the 31-year-old outfielder will remain with the organization and could even return to the major league level in September.

Asdrubal Cabrera is not in the Mets' starting lineup on Wednesday night against the Yankees.

Wilmer Flores will start at third base and hit cleanup versus Yankees left-hander Jaime Garcia. Cabrera has a weak .593 OPS in 50 plate appearances this month.

Andrew Benintendi (knee) is in the Red Sox starting lineup on Wednesday against the Cardinals.

Benintendi left Tuesday night's blowout win over St. Louis after taking a Mike Leake pitch off his left knee in the bottom of the fifth inning. There was never any serious concern. Benintendi is 18-for-43 (.419) with five home runs, 13 RBI, five stolen bases, and 12 runs scored in 11 games this month. He'll start in left field and bat third Wednesday versus Cardinals right-hander Lance Lynn.

Ricky Nolasco left his start Wednesday against the Nationals with a trainer.

Nolasco was pulled with a 2-2 count on Jose Lobaton, though his pitch total was up to 112 so it might not have been injury-related. The right-hander allowed two earned runs on five hits and three walks over 5 2/3 innings versus Washington. Anaheim had a 3-2 lead when he departed.

Joakim Soria will undergo an MRI on his sore lower back Thursday in Kansas City.

Royals manager Ned Yost said Wednesday morning that it's "probably a possibility" the veteran reliever will require a disabled list stint. Soria was lit up for four earned runs in the eighth inning of Tuesday night's loss to the Athletics. He has a 3.96 ERA in 53 total appearances this year.

J.J. Hardy (wrist) hit in the cages and played long toss on Wednesday.

And he is hoping to advance to on-field batting practice on Friday. Hardy told reporters earlier this week that he is aiming to return to the Orioles' active roster by the beginning of September, but he might not have a starting job when he gets back as deadline-acquisition Tim Beckham has played tremendously.

Andrew Albers will make another start for the Mariners on Monday in Atlanta.

Albers looked good Tuesday night against the Orioles, allowing just one earned run over five innings to earn his first major league win since 2013. The 31-year-old left-hander had a sharp 2.61 ERA and 115/19 K/BB ratio over 120 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level and carries some fantasy streaming appeal for his next matchup versus the out-of-contention Braves.
