Jake Peavy improved to 4-6 after allowing two runs in seven innings Friday against the Phillies.

Since falling to 1-5 with an 8.21 ERA on May 20, Peavy is 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA in his last six starts. It's not enough to make him a quality pickup in mixed leagues again, but the Giants will certainly take it.

Zach Eflin pitched six innings and allowed just an unearned run Friday in a no-decision against the Giants.

Eflin left with a 2-1 lead, but it vanished almost immediately in the seventh. Still, this was a second straight nice outing for him after he gave up eight earned runs in 2 2/3 innings in his major league debut 10 days ago. He remains a weak bet outside of deep NL-only leagues, but he won't embarrass himself.

Angel Pagan went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a steal versus the Phillies on Friday.

Pagan is hitting .297 with a homer and nine RBI in nine games since coming off the disabled list. He'll continue to get as much playing time as his body can handle while Hunter Pence is sidelined.

Khris Davis went 2-for-4 and hit a three-run homer as the Athletics topped the Angels 7-4 on Friday.

Ddavis has 18 homers and 49 RBI this season, so he's defensively doing something right. Of course, he also has a 71/8 K/BB ratio, which, combined with a .243 average and just eight doubles, leaves him with a .781 OPS that's far more solid than spectacular. He might be trade bait again this summer.

After setting up for Sean Doolittle on Thursday, Ryan Madson picked up his 14th save with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Friday.

Madson also pitched a scoreless inning Thursday before Doolittle gave up two runs in nearly blowing the lead. Tonight's save was just Madson's second of June, but that's less because of usage and more because the A's are struggling. He remains the primary closer.
Jun 25 - 1:58 AM

Jered Weaver was lifted after allowing four runs in 4 2/3 innings Friday against the A's.

Weaver hurled a shutout of the A's last weekend. This time, Oakland was ready for his 82-mph fastball, and he failed to last five innings for the third time this year. There's still not any fantasy potential here.
Jun 25 - 1:55 AM

George Springer blasted a grand slam as part of a three hit day, leading the Astros to a 13-4 victory over the Royals on Friday.

Springer led off the game with a triple and followed it up with the grand slam the same inning. He finished the game 3-for-5 with a walk, five RBI and two runs scored. Springer has been a near-elite fantasy force with 16 home runs, 51 runs scored, 46 RBI, six steals and a .266 batting average.
Jun 25 - 1:54 AM

Stephen Vogt went 3-for-5 and hit his sixth homer Friday against the Angels.

Vogt is hitting .286 with two homers, a triple and five doubles in 56 at-bats this month. Unfortunately, all that has been good for is just four RBI and five runs scored. That's what playing for the A's gets you.
