Cliff Lee (elbow) is on track to rejoin the Phillies' rotation on July 21 versus the Giants.

He originally had been pegged for a July 19 return, but the Phils will apparently give him a couple extra days. Lee will make what will be his final rehab start at High-A Clearwater on Monday, provided he doesn't have a setback. He has allowed three runs over six innings in his first two rehab outings.

Mariners right-handed pitching prospect Taijuan Walker scattered four hits and one walk over five innings, allowing one run for Triple-A Tacoma.

Walker pitched well against a Fresno Bears lineup that included Gary Brown, Adam Duvall, Andrew Susac, and Travis Ishikawa. He threw 50 of his 83 pitches for strikes (60.2 percent), and two of the four hits were double. Walker will be back in the major leagues in about a week to make a start against the New York Mets.
Jul 13 - 12:04 PM

Diamondbacks right-handed pitching prospect Archie Bradley struck out five over 5 2/3 innings for Double-A Mobile on Saturday, allowing three hits, four walks, and one run.

Bradley has pitched well, though not spectacularly, for the Mobile BayBears over four starts. Logically, Bradley should return to Triple-A Reno before making his major league debut, but the Diamondbacks front office may want to keep him out of the hitter-haven that is Reno and the Pacific Coast League. His timetable is unclear, but his prospect status has not been affected in any appreciable amount.

Rangers prospect outfielder Jairo Beras went 4-for-5 with a double for Low-A Hickory on Saturday.

After the game on June 14, Beras was hitting .190/.257/.224, but he has hit .400/.440/.643 since then to raise his average to .250/.308/.344. He is one of the many high-ceiling prospects in the Rangers organization, and he has the potential to a perennial All-Star slugging outfielder, though he is unlikely to reach the major leagues until 2018.

Desmond Jennings (knee) remained out of the Rays' lineup Sunday.

Jennings has sat out two straight games with a bruised left knee, but he's expected to be fine after the All-Star break. Kevin Kiermaier is in center field again Sunday.
Jul 13 - 11:48 AM

Jon Niese (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Sunday.

It's the first time he's thrown off a mound since going on the disabled list. The Mets haven't put an official timetable on Niese's return, but the expectation is that he'll rejoin the rotation on July 21 in Seattle if all goes well.
Jul 13 - 11:40 AM

Phillies outfield prospect Carlos Tocci went 3-for-4 with two doubles for Low-A Lakewood on Saturday.

The 18-year old Tocci was hitting .234/.287/.294 at the end of June, but has been on fire in July, hitting .362/.400/.532 with six doubles and one triple to raise his season line to .252/.303/.327. He has hits in 12 of his last 13 games. Tocci has the potential to be an elite outfielder, but his present lack of strength is his primary issue. If he can get stronger and hit for more power, he could reach his ceiling.

Dan Uggla has been suspended by the Braves for one game.

There's no official word on what the suspension is for, but David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is hearing it's for tardiness. It was O'Brien that reported Uggla could be designated for assignment, but evidently the club isn't ready to make that move yet. Uggla has received just 20 at-bats since May 23 and has one hit over that time.
