Kenley Jansen got into a ninth inning jam and escaped, converting his 14th save in Monday's 10-7 victory over the Phillies.

Jansen walked Carlos Ruiz and allowed a single to Cody Asche to bring the tying run to the plate with no outs. He struck out Domonic Brown, got Jeff Francoeur to fly out, and struck out Andres Blanco to end the game. Jansen had allowed runs in each of his previous three performances. The hard-throwing right-hander is 14-for-15 in save chances with a 1.83 ERA and a 34/2 K/BB ratio in 19 2/3 innings.

Yimi Garcia, making his first major league start, gave up two runs in two innings but got a no-decision as the Dodgers eventually overcame the Phillies on Monday.

Garcia allowed a two-run home run to Freddy Galvis in the second inning, accounting for the damage. It was one of four hits he allowed while walking none and striking out two. The Dodgers were hurting for rotation help, but Garcia will likely head back to the bullpen after this.

Sean O'Sullivan threw a career-high 123 pitches in 5 1/3 innings, yielding seven runs (six earned) but got a no-decision as the Phillies lost to the Dodgers on Monday.

The Phillies backed him up with plenty of run support, but it went for naught. Yasmani Grandal struck the big blow, swatting a three-run home run to tie the game at 6-6 in the fifth inning. Overall, he relented eight hits and a pair of walks while striking out three. O'Sullivan has an unsightly 6.08 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP and a 35/20 K/BB ratio over 71 innings. He'll close out the first half with a start in San Francisco against the Giants.
Jul 7 - 2:39 AM

Jimmy Rollins knocked in the game-winning hit against his former team, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a pair of runs scored in Monday's win over the Phillies.

With the game knotted at 7-7 in the seventh inning, Rollins drove a two-run single to left-center. He later scored on Joc Pederson's double. The veteran shortstop has not been productive in his first year with the Dodgers, batting .212/.266/.324 with seven home runs and 26 RBI. Even his speed has waned, as he's been successful in only six of 13 stolen base attempts.
Jul 7 - 2:36 AM

Ryan Howard went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's loss to the Dodgers.

Howard lifted a three-run home run off of Eric Surkamp in the third inning to give the Phillies a 5-3 lead, but it didn't hold. It's his first home run since June 19. Howard has shown occasional power throughout the year but hasn't been useful otherwise, carrying a .218/.265/.435 triple-slash line with 14 home runs and 41 RBI.

Yasmani Grandal clubbed a three-run home run and walked in five plate appearances, helping the Dodgers outslug the Phillies in Monday's win.

Grandal, named to the 2015 National League All-Star roster on Monday, hit a game-tying three-run home run to right-center in the fifth inning against Sean O'Sullivan. The backstop has homered three times and knocked in eight runs in his last six games. As a result, he is now hitting .271/.384/.507 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI.
Jul 7 - 2:32 AM

Adrian Gonzalez homered and walked in five plate appearances on Monday as the Dodgers topped the Phillies.

Gonzalez made it a 2-0 game with a solo home run off of Sean O'Sullivan in the first inning. It's his third home run in five July games, giving him 16 on the season with 51 RBI and a .291/.368/.526 batting line. It was announced on Monday that Gonzalez made the National League's 2015 All-Star Game roster as a reserve.
Jul 7 - 2:29 AM

Howie Kendrick went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored as the Dodgers outlasted the Phillies for a win on Monday.

It's his third four-hit game in his last 10 games. He tripled in the first inning and scored the Dodgers' first run, then led off the fifth inning and came around to score on Yasmani Grandal's three-run home run. He added an RBI single in the sixth, finishing a home run short of the cycle. Kendrick is hitting .300/.349/.432 with seven home runs, 37 RBI, and 40 runs scored on the year.
