Francisco Cervelli was scratched from Sunday's lineup due to fatigue and "a little bit" of continued soreness in his right foot, according to Pirates general manager Neal Huntington.

Cervelli had some soreness in the foot during the second half last season and it's creeped up on him a bit this spring. It doesn't look to be overly concerning at this point, though.

Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press writes that the "leading option" for Glen Perkins (shoulder) is to start the season on the 60-day disabled list.

Perkins has progressed well of late in his recovery from major shoulder surgery, but he hasn't appeared in any games this spring and the Twins are going to proceed extra cautiously with him. It's unclear when he might be ready for game action.

Indians optioned RHP Joseph Colon to Triple-A Columbus; re-assigned INF Chris Colabello, Cs Erik Kratz and Adam Moore, LHP Tyler Olson, OFs Daniel Robertson and Bradley Zimmer and INF Richie Shaffer to minor league camp.

Shaffer opened some eyes this spring with four home runs following a swing change that he's worked on, but it wasn't enough to make the roster. Top prospect Zimmer figures to get a chance this season given the uncertainty in the Indians' outfield.

Indians optioned RHP Mike Clevinger to Triple-A Columbus.

Clevinger has really struggled this spring (11.12 ERA), but he didn't have much of a shot to make the Opening Day roster, anyway. He'll be part of Columbus' rotation.

Austin Jackson has made the Indians' Opening Day roster.

It was always likely provided that he showed he was healthy following knee surgery last year. Jackson has made the decision easy by going 9-for-24 with a home run during Cactus League play. The veteran outfielder should play regularly against lefties and might see even more time than that depending on the statuses of Michael Brantley (shoulder) and Lonnie Chisenhall (shoulder).

Robbie Grossman (groin) took batting practice Sunday.

He could return to game action within the next couple days. Grossman has missed the last week of action with a groin injury but has enough time to get ready for Opening Day if he can avoid a setback.

Charlie Tilson (foot) will have to wear a walking boot for three more weeks.

The hope had been that he was a week away from removing the boot and beginning weight-bearing exercises, but apparently his recovery has come along slower than expected. Tilson has had an awful time with injuries since landing in the White Sox' organization, tearing his hamstring in his first game last year and now dealing with a stress reaction in his foot all camp. He's out indefinitely.

Athletics optioned RHP Jesse Hahn to Triple-A Nashville.

Hahn had a shot to open the season in the rotation, but he posted an 8.80 ERA over 15 1/3 innings in the Cactus League. That wasn't going to cut it, especially after last year's 6.02 ERA with the big club. Hahn will try to get on track with Nashville.
