Brewers released LHP Boone Logan.

Logan was designated for assignment last week and will now try to find a new home. The veteran southpaw signed a one-year, $1.875 million deal with the Brewers in January, but he struggled with a 5.91 ERA over 16 appearances.

Brewers manager Craig Counsell said after Sunday's game that he doesn't think Travis Shaw (wrist) will require a stint on the disabled list.

Shaw exited Sunday's game after aggravating his right wrist on a swing. There should be more clarity on his status in the next day or two, but Shaw thinks the scheduled off-day on Monday will help. Stay tuned.

According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the Mets are calling up prospect reliever Tyler Bashlor on Monday.

This confirms a report from Frank Sulkowski of WJCL 22 News. The move will provide a fresh arm for the Mets' bullpen after they were taxed heavily in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Dodgers. Bashlor, 25, owns a 2.63 ERA and 30/12 K/BB ratio over 24 innings with Double-A Binghamton this season.

Trey Mancini (neck) went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and a walk in his return to action Sunday against the Braves.

Mancini missed three straight starts due to neck stiffness. The homer was his second in his last four games. Still, it's been a disappointing season so far for the 26-year-old. After an impressive rookie season, he's batting just .225/.298/.376 over 72 games.

Daniel Murphy delivered a go-ahead two-run single with two outs in the eighth inning on Sunday night, leading the Nationals to an 8-6 victory over the Phillies.

Phillies' closer Seranthony Dominguez intentionally walked rookie Juan Soto to load the bases in order to face Murphy in the eighth inning with the Nationals trailing by a run. He fell behind in the count 1-2, but was able to then serve a two-run single into left field to give the Nationals their first lead of the night. Murphy finished the night 3-for-4 (all singles) and also drew a walk, raising his season slash to .195/.233/.220 through his first 43 plate appearances.

Bryce Harper went 3-for-5 with three doubles and a pair of runs scored as the Nationals rallied late to beat the Phillies.

Harper struck out in each of his first two plate appearances before making adjustments. He had an RBI double with two outs in the sixth inning that pulled the Nationals to within two runs at 6-4, then doubled and scored as part of the critical go-ahead rally in the eighth. With the three-hit attack, he's hitting .219/.356/.479 to go with 19 homers, 46 RBI and six stolen bases.

Sean Doolittle shut down the Phillies in the ninth inning on Sunday, protecting a two-run advantage to earn his 21st save of the season.

The left-hander has been outstanding this year, converting all but one of his first 22 save chances while registering a minuscule 1.60 ERA and 0.53 WHIP. As long as he remains healthy, he should continue to produce as an upper-echelon closing option in all fantasy leagues. The only thing that holds him back from elite territory is his lack of strikeouts compared to the rest of the position.
Jun 25 - 12:36 AM

Jefry Rodriguez struggled in a no-decision against the Phillies on Sunday, surrendering five runs (four earned) on five hits over his four-plus innings of work.

The rookie right-hander walked three and struck out three on the night. He served up a two-run homer to Rhys Hoskins in the third inning, and the rest of the damage against him came during an uprising in the fifth that chased him from the game. If he sticks around in the rotation to make another start, which could depend on the health of Jeremy Hellickson, Rodriguez will get another opportunity against these Phillies on Saturday in Philadelphia.
