Erik Gonzalez was pulled from Thursday's game for Triple-A Columbus and has since joined the Indians in Minnesota.

The Indians wanted him to be ready after Jose Ramirez took a pitch off his forearm in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader. Ramirez should be all right—his X-rays came back negative—but Gonzalez will travel with the team to Kansas City just in case. Gonzalez sports a .263 average over 80 big league at-bats this season.

Chris Beck left Thursday's game against the Rangers with a bruised right shoulder.

It's been a rough night for White Sox pitchers with Reynaldo Lopez (side) and now Beck both going down with injuries. Beck, who came on in relief of Lopez in the fifth, took an Adrian Beltre line drive off his shoulder and allowed a two-run homer to Nomar Mazara before exiting. Those were the only two batters he faced. Beck sports an ugly 5.87 ERA over 46 relief innings this year. He's day-to-day.

Reynaldo Lopez left Thursday's start against the Rangers with tightness in his right side.

He'll be reevaluated on Friday. Lopez had a rough night, allowing five hits, six runs (five earned) and four walks with six strikeouts before exiting with one out in the fifth inning. The 23-year-old has pitched to a mediocre 6.10 ERA in two starts since getting called up from Triple-A Charlotte earlier this month.

Koda Glover (back, shoulder) has been rehabbing at the Nationals' spring training facility in West Palm Beach.

Glover plans to ramp up his activity after getting good news from his doctor earlier this week. As of last week, he was throwing up to 100 feet on flat ground. A rotator cuff injury has sidelined Glover since June 11.

Enny Romero (forearm) tossed a perfect inning Thursday in a rehab appearance for Triple-A Syracuse.

He retired the side in the sixth inning, recording one strikeout over 14 pitches. The 26-year-old looks ready to rejoin the Nats' bullpen after missing the past couple of weeks with a strained forearm. He holds a 3.99 ERA across 47 1/3 innings for Washington this season.

Updating an earlier report, Robbie Grossman left Thursday's game against the Indians with a fractured left thumb.

Grossman injured himself in a collision with Byron Buxton in the third inning and was later replaced by Max Kepler. The injury is expected to sideline Grossman for at least three weeks. The 27-year-old has hit .243 with seven homers and 35 RBI over 317 at-bats for Minnesota this season.

Austin Slater (hip) is ready to resume running.

It's a good first step, but Slater is still nowhere close to a return after tearing the adductor muscle in his right hip just prior to the All-Star break. With little to play for, the Giants certainly won't rush him in his recovery. Before he went down, the 24-year-old posted a respectable .290 average with three homers in 100 at-bats for San Francisco.

Miguel Gomez suffered a setback in his recovery from a right knee injury.

Gomez had been slated to return Saturday following a short rehab assignment with High-A San Jose, but obviously that's no longer an option. He'll be in a holding pattern until the Giants clear him for rehab games. So far the rookie has eight hits including two doubles in 33 big league at-bats.
