Javier Baez clubbed his 13th home run of the season, helping to power the Cubs to an 8-3 victory over the Giants on Sunday Night Baseball.

Baez tagged Pierce Johnson for the three-run shot in the fourth inning, giving the Cubs a 6-3 lead. He also singled, finishing the night 2-for-5. The hard-hitting second baseman is now slashing .266/.298/.574 with 13 long balls, 42 RBI and seven stolen bases. While the average and on-base percentage aren't elite, it's hard to match that type of power and speed production, especially in the middle infield.

Albert Almora went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI as the Cubs topped the Giants on Sunday night in Chicago.

Almora led off the game with a single and came around to score the Cubs' first run during a three-run rally in the first inning. He then doubled and rode home on Javier Baez's three-run blast in the fourth and chipped in an RBI double of his own in the fifth. He's slashing a robust .326/.377/.457 with two homers and 13 RBI in 152 plate appearances on the year. While the average is nice, Almora has hardly contributed anything in power and he has yet to steal a base, making him nothing more than an NL-only play at this stage.

Anthony Rizzo went 1-for-3 and drew a pair of walks on Sunday as the Cubs defeated the Giants on Sunday Night Baseball.

Rizzo drove in a run with an RBI single in the first inning and also scored a run in the contest. He has still been a major disappointment for fantasy owners this season, slashing just .215/.323/.361 with six homers, 33 RBI and one stolen base. Rizzo owners obviously can't afford to give up on him, they just need to hope he picks up the pace offensively sooner rather than later.

Tyler Chatwood was erratic in a no-decision against the Giants on Sunday, issuing five walks over just 2 2/3 innings.

The veteran right-hander threw just 46 of his 88 itches for strikes in this one. He surrendered three runs on six hits while striking out three in the ballgame. All of the damage against him came in the first inning, where Pablo Sandoval delivered a two-out RBI infield single and Mac Williamson followed with a two-run knock. He'll try to get back on track when he brings a 4.10 ERA and horrifying 1.76 WHIP into Friday's start against the Mets in New York.

Mac Williamson went 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs as the Giants fell to the Cubs on Sunday night.

Williamson delivered a two-run single in the first inning to increase the Giants' early lead to 3-0. Unfortunately, that would wind up being the extent of their offense in the ballgame. Williamson also drew a walk in the contest, reaching base twice in his four plate appearances. He's now slashing .276/.323/.586 with three homers and eight RBI in his first 31 plate appearances this season. Now that he's the everyday left fielder, he's worth a look in deeper mixed leagues.
May 27 - 11:46 PM

Ty Blach struggled in Sunday night's loss to the Cubs, giving up five runs on seven hits over his three-plus innings of work.

The left-hander also issued four free passes while striking out three on the night. Blach gave up three runs to the Cubs in the first inning, then settled in until the first two hitters reached in the fourth. He was given the quick hook, and both inherited runners immediately rode home on a three-run blast by Javier Baez. Blach will carry a troublesome 4.90 ERA and 1.60 WHIP into Saturday's start against the Phillies. He remains an underwhelming fantasy option in all formats.
May 27 - 11:46 PM

Giants' manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that the club is "open-minded" about Madison Bumgarner returning on Friday.

Bumgarner had been slated to make several minor league rehab starts, but with as well as he pitched in his debut with Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday, the plan may change. He'll throw around 70 pitches in his next outing, so even if he does return he probably isn't worth using from a fantasy perspective in that first start back.
May 27 - 11:02 PM

David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution believes that the Braves will wait until Monday to announce the results of Ronald Acuna's exams.

Acuna was taken to the hospital for further evaluation after leaving Sunday's game with a left leg injury. Fantasy owners should have a contingency plan in place in the event that Acuna winds up on the disabled list.
