Dolphins coach Adam Gase suggested C Mike Pouncey (hip) will not play Thursday night against the Bengals.
Even with fill-in C Anthony Steen dealing with a high-ankle sprain, the Dolphins are not going to rush Pouncey back without seeing him in practice. Kraig Urbik will likely draw the start at center Thursday night. Pouncey could return Week 5.
Coach Adam Gase suggested Arian Foster (groin) is not going to play Thursday night against the Bengals.
"We're going to make sure he's at the right place for us," Gase said. It was never likely Foster would return on a short week, but he could make it back for the Dolphins' Week 5 clash with the Titans. Miami will again turn to a underwhelming committee featuring Kenyan Drake, Jay Ajayi, Damien Williams, and Isaiah Pead. This is a situation to avoid.
The Miami Herald's Adam Beasley reports Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron will miss Thursday night's game against the Bengals because of a concussion.
Cameron has a long history with concussions, so it is possible this injury sidelines him for a while. Dion Sims should be close to an every-down player with Cameron out.
An MRI confirmed Redskins FS DeAngelo Hall tore his ACL Week 3 against the Giants.
Hall seemed to be holding out hope he escaped without a serious injury Sunday night, but doctors always suspected a tear. Hall had looked good in his transition to safety, so his loss is a big one for an already thin safety corps. Hall is owed $4.25 million in 2017, the final year of his deal.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ryan Mathews' ankle "stiffened" Week 3 against the Steelers.
It explains why he played just eight snaps in the blowout win. Mathews has been dealing with an ankle injury since training camp, but he has not been on the injury report. He will get the bye week to heal up before facing the Lions in Week 5.
ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports Giants third-round FS Darian Thompson is not dealing with a Lisfranc injury.
Thompson is still likely to miss a few weeks, but it is good news considering the negative mood around his foot injury last week. Nat Berhe should continue to start while Thompson is sidelined.
Chargers ILB Manti Te'o will be sidelined the rest of the season after suffering a torn Achilles' Week 3 against the Colts.
This was the expectation after he went down without contact in coverage. Te'o is the third player the Chargers have lost to an Achilles' injury already this year. It is a really tough blow for Te'o, who is in the final year of his rookie deal. Already a limited athlete, the former second-rounder will likely have to settle for a prove-it deal.
Bears fifth-round RB Jordan Howard said he is "comfortable" playing a bigger role.
That is good news considering Jeremy Langford was carted off the field Sunday night and spotted in a walking boot after the game. Howard was already earning more work even before the injury, however, and was much more effective with his touches than Langford has been at any point this season. Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring) should also have a role once he gets healthy, but Howard could run away with the starting job. He is a must-add in all formats.
