Daniel Thomas rushed for 25 yards on seven carries and caught three passes for 25 yards in the Dolphins' Week 7 win over the Bears.
Thomas operated as Lamar Miller's clear No. 2. He got a couple series to himself, at one point touching the ball on 5-of-7 plays on a second-quarter drive, but that was mostly it. With Knowshon Moreno (knee) done for the season, we'd expect Thomas to be Miller's backup for the duration of the season.
Colin Kaepernick completed 24-of-39 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in Sunday night's Week 7 loss to the Broncos.
He added 18 yards on three carries. Kaepernick failed to lead the 49ers to a scoring drive in the second half. His lone touchdown came on a four-yard pass to Stevie Johnson in the back of the end-zone. The 49ers offensive line struggled to pass protect all game, and Kaepernick was sacked six times. Kaepernick will be a borderline QB1 option in Week 9 when the 49ers come out of their bye.
Peyton Manning completed 22-of-26 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns in Sunday night's 42-17 win over the 49ers.
Manning broke Brett Favre's career touchdown record with an eight-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas in the second quarter. He picked apart an injured 49ers secondary, finishing with just four incompletions. With the Broncos playing on a short turnaround next week, Manning was rested for Brock Osweiler in the fourth quarter. He's now up to 1,848 yards, 19 touchdowns, and three interceptions through six games. The Broncos take on the Chargers in Week 8.
Raiders S Usama Young suffered a serious knee injury in Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Cardinals.
Young as carted off in the third quarter and coach Tony Sparano said the prognosis "probably won't be great." Young was only starting because of Tyvon Branch's season-ending foot injury sustained in Week 3. The next man up would be Brandian Ross.
49ers C Daniel Kilgore was carted off in Sunday night's Week 7 game against the Broncos with a left leg/ankle injury.
It's another blow to a 49ers offensive line that's already down RT Anthony Davis and LG Mike Iupati. Kilgore had been off to a strong start this season, grading out as a top-ten center by Pro Football Focus. UDFA Dillon Farrell has replaced him in the lineup. Third-round pick Marcus Martin (knee) could return after the 49ers' Week 8 bye.
The Packers did not provide an update on James Starks (ankle) following Sunday's win over the Panthers.
Starks went down midway through the third quarter and did not return. However, the game was a blowout so it could have very well been precautionary -- especially considering Starks stayed on the sideline with his helmet.
According to CBS' Jason La Canfora, Fred Jackson (groin) will not play in Week 8.
La Canfora and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport are both reporting that Jackson could return in Week 10, following the Bills' Week 9 bye. We'll see. Jackson was in a ton of pain as he was carted off Sunday and serious soft-tissue injuries are hard for running backs to overcome. Rapoport says the "worst case" is a four-week injury. With C.J. Spiller (collarbone) out for the season, Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon are the Bills' top-two backs heading into Week 8 against the Jets.
Bears CB Kyle Fuller broke his hand and suffered a hip pointer in Sunday's Week 7 loss to the Dolphins.
Fuller was able to go back into the game with a cast after the hand injury, but later was knocked out by the hip issue. It's unclear how severe it is right now. Fuller, the No. 14 overall pick this season, started the season on fire before struggling a bit against the Packers and Panthers.
