David Peralta (wrist) expects to begin playing in extended spring training games next Wednesday.

Peralta plans to play a few games and then rejoin the Diamondbacks, so it looks like he should return next weekend if all goes well. The outfielder has been on the shelf for the last three weeks with inflammation in his right wrist, but he's been swinging a bat for a few days with no issues.

Giancarlo Stanton (side) took swings in a batting cage on Friday.

He hasn't played since Tuesday due to soreness in his right side and is out of the lineup again Friday. Stanton would appear to still be at least a day or two away, but he's making some progress.
May 27 - 5:56 PM

Christian Yelich (back) took batting practice on the field Friday.

He remains out of the lineup, but it does appear some progress is being made. Yelich returning to action sometime over the weekend would appear to be realistic.

Diamondbacks recalled OF/1B Peter O'Brien from Triple-A Reno.

O'Brien has batted .306/.330/.601 with 12 homers at Reno this season. He could have some deep league value, especially in leagues where he's catcher-eligible. However, O'Brien isn't guaranteed playing time so don't go overboard.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Evan Marshall to Triple-A Reno.

Marshall holds a 6.92 ERA on the season. He'll get another shot eventually.
May 27 - 5:45 PM

Chafin has struck out over a batter per inning but also put up a 9.00 ERA this season. He'll try to iron out his issues in the minors.
May 27 - 5:45 PM

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Dominic Leone from Triple-A Reno.

Leone has been knocked around in two major league appearances this season but holds a 2.16 ERA at Reno. He'll work in middle relief.
