Steven Souza scored the go-ahead run in the 10th inning as the Rays topped the Pirates 4-2 in Pittsburgh.

Souza plated the Rays' first run on a fielder's choice in the first inning. He singled to start the 10th inning and raced around to score the go-ahead run on a throwing error by David Freese. He's now hitting .264/.370/.483 with 14 homers and 49 RBI on the season.

Adeiny Hechavarria went 1-for-3 and drove home a pair of runs in his Rays' debut on Tuesday.

The recently-acquired shortstop came through with a run-scoring single in the eighth inning and tacked on an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th. He should see regular playing time at shortstop for the Rays and is worth a look in AL-only formats.

Alex Colome suffered his fourth blown save of the season on Tuesday, but earned a backdoor victory after allowing a pair of runs in the ninth inning against the Pirates.

Colome started the ninth inning by hitting John Jaso, then allowed a one-out double to Josh Harrison that put the tying run in scoring position. Andrew McCutchen followed with a game-tying, two-run double. Colome was able to settle down though and around a pair of intentional walks got David Freese and Jordy Mercer to fly out. The 28-year-old hasn't been as sharp this season, registering a 3.57 ERA and 32/14 K/BB ratio across 35 1/3 innings.
Jun 27 - 10:34 PM

Alex Cobb carried a no-hit bid into the seventh inning in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Cobb punched out four and walked one on the night. Josh Harrison broke up the no-hit bid with a single leading off the seventh inning, which was followed by a single from Andrew McCutchen. Those would be the only two hits Cobb would allow over eight shutout innings. Unfortunately, Alex Colome was unable to protect his lead in the ninth. He'll head into Sunday's start against the Orioles in Baltimore with a 3.69 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 71/28 K/BB ratio.
Jun 27 - 10:34 PM

Andrew McCutchen came through with a game-tying two-run double in the ninth inning on Tuesday, but the Pirates still fell in extra innings to the Rays.

John Jaso started the rally by getting hit by a pitch and advanced to third on a double by Josh Harrison, setting the stage for McCutchen's dramatics against Rays' closer Alex Colome. He finished the evening 2-for-4 and is now slashing .272/.351/.486 with 14 homers, 46 RBI and six stolen bases on the season.
Jun 27 - 10:34 PM

Trevor Williams pitched well in a no-decision against the Rays on Tuesday, surrendering two runs on six hits over seven-plus innings.

Williams racked up seven strikeouts on the evening and didn't walk a batter. The Rays scratched out a run against him in the fourth inning and added another on an RBI single by Adeiny Hechavarria before chasing Williams in the eighth. Williams now sports a 4.82 ERA and 48/17 K/BB ratio over 65 1/3 innings with the Pirates this season. He'll look to replicate this fine effort when he takes on the Giants on Sunday.
Jun 27 - 10:33 PM

Michael Conforto (hand) wasn't available off the bench Tuesday.

Mets manager Terry Collins said before the loss to the Marlins that he was hoping he'd have Conforto available, but the outfielder was unable to grip a bat without pain. The good news is that an X-ray on his left hand came back clean. However, it doesn't sound like he's close to returning to the lineup.
Jun 27 - 10:28 PM

Adrian Beltre went 2-for-4 with a go-ahead homer off Cody Allen in the top of the ninth as the Rangers edged the Indians 2-1 on Tuesday.

Beltre has homered in three straight games after totaling two homers in his first 21 games back from the disabled list. Those who held on to him for the duration of his injuries have been well rewarded thus far.
