Lonnie Chisenhall finished 3-for-5 with a homer, a double and three RBI Wednesday versus the Rangers.

Chisenhall has been a big disappointment, but there's still plenty of time for him to turn it around. Fortunately for him, the Indians don't have anyone else they want to break in at third base.

Michael Bourn went 3-for-5 with a stolen base Wednesday against the Rangers.

Bourn is batting .317 with a .394 OBP in 60 at-bats this month after coming in at .200 with a .264 OBP in April and losing his leadoff spot as a result. The Indians are happy with Jason Kipnis at the top of the order, so Bourn will probably keep hitting low in the order for the foreseeable future.

Delino DeShields Jr. made his major league debut at second base late in Wednesday's blowout loss.

Manager Jeff Banister said earlier this week that there weren't any immediate plans to give DeShields starts at second base. He played the position regularly from 2011-2013 in the minors, but he proved much better defensively in the outfield. Of course, there's now fewer at-bats for him there with Josh Hamilton off the DL. He'll likely get most of his starts versus lefties unless he shows he's a realistic option at second.

Kevin Kiermaier had to leave Wednesday's game against the Mariners after being hit on the right ankle by a pitch in the sixth inning.

Kiermaier initially stayed in but had to leave after the seventh. The Rays should have more on his status later Wednesday, but it doesn't seem to be terribly serious.

Cardinals recalled C Ed Easley from Triple-A Memphis.

Easley was up briefly with the big club earlier this season but didn't receive an at-bat. His stay this time around is also likely to be short, as Jon Jay (wrist) is due back from the disabled list Friday.

Cardinals placed 1B Matt Adams on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quad.

It's not clear at this point how severe the strain is, so a timetable for Adams' return isn't known at the moment. It certainly figures to be more than a minimum stay on the DL, though, and could be a rather lengthy one. Mark Reynolds will handle first base in the meantime.

Astros shortstop prospect Carlos Correa broke an 0-for-8 slump by belting his third homer Tuesday for Triple-A Fresno.

Correa also gunned down a runner at home plate. The 20-year-old has shown he belongs by hitting .283 in his first 14 games at Triple-A. He's hitting second in a potent Fresno lineup and looks poised to be a big-time contributor. The Astros have done fine without him this season but there's certainly a chance Corra could play at the big league level this season.

Ike Davis (quad) will take batting practice on the field Thursday.

It will be his first bit of baseball activity since he landed on the disabled list a couple weeks ago with a Grade 2 strain in his left quad. Obviously running is going to be a bigger test for Davis and it's not clear when he might be able to do that.
