The Titans named Quinton Spain their starting left guard.

Spain beat out rookie Sebastian Tretola and veteran swingman Brian Schwenke. Spain had an up-and-down preseason after a 2015 campaign where he received high PFF marks in pass protection but struggled in the running game.

Chiefs waived WR Seantavius Jones, DB Bryce Cheek, DL Niko Davis, OL Curtis Feigt, CB Malcolm Jackson, LB Jonathan Massaquoi, WR Kashif Moore, and C Drew Nowak.

A onetime offseason hype hero in New Orleans, we were actually surprised to learn Jones was on a team. Jones was not a surprise cut in Kansas City.

Jets ILB David Harris (shoulder) is expected to be ready by Week 1.

ESPN New York's Rich Cimini later reported Harris' shoulder is only "bruised." One of the better interior run defenders in the league, Harris is coming off a 108-tackle season with 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles. Harris has played in 16-of-16 games in an incredible seven straight seasons. That streak won't end when the Jets host the Bengals on September 11.

Rookie Tyler Ervin was the No. 2 back behind Lamar Miller in the Texans' third preseason game.

It's not the first time Ervin has worked second behind Miller this preseason, though we weren't sure the previous time was notable because Ervin's appearance was brief. He logged the second most playing time with the ones on Saturday night, seeing more work in the Brock Osweiler group than Alfred Blue. It's not inconceivable Ervin would lead the Texans in touches if Miller went down. That possibility makes Ervin worth consideration in deep re-draft leagues. On Sunday, Ervin rushed twice for 13 yards and had a 20-yard reception.

Buccaneers WR Donteea Dye did not suffer a tear when he injured his hamstring in Friday's preseason game.

The injury is minor and Dye could be back for Week 1 against Atlanta. Dye saw a surprising number of snaps last season but still managed only 11 catches for 132 yards. He'll be lucky to crack a spot on the 53-man roster.

Braxton Miller hauled in all three of his targets for 29 yards in Sunday’s regular season dress rehearsal.

Miller looked sharp on the opening drive, delivering back-to-back catches to set Houston up at the one-yard line, where Lamar Miller punched it in for the game’s first touchdown. He also snagged a six-yarder late in the first half. Among the starting wideouts, only Will Fuller out-snapped Miller. The third-round pick has enjoyed a productive preseason so far with 10 catches for 97 yards. Look for Miller to open 2016 as the Texans’ starting slot receiver.

Cardinals TE Darren Fells secured 2-of-3 targets for 44 yards in Sunday's third preseason game.

His big play was a 40-yard gain delivered by Carson Palmer with John Brown (concussion) and Larry Fitzgerald (knee) getting the night off. A former pro basketball player, Fells has more athleticism than his pass-catching track record indicates, but he was not a big part of the Cardinals' passing game last season and it's difficult to envision his role growing much. Fells may end up rotating with Jermaine Gresham and Troy Niklas.

DeAndre Hopkins caught 2-of-2 targets for 31 yards in the Texans' third preseason game.

The Texans only gave him 13 snaps with Brock Osweiler because they wanted to give Jaelen Strong a look with the ones. Hopkins looked sharp, as did rookie bookend Will Fuller, whose blinding speed down the sideline should create more space for "Nuk" to work underneath. Hopkins is a locked-in WR1.
