Aramis Ramirez hit a two-run double in the eighth inning of Saturday's loss to the Cardinals.

Ramirez finished the game 3-for-4, one of the lone bright sparks for a floundering Brewer team. Despite the strong game, Ramirez is still hitting just .197/.197/.295. The 3-15 Brewers represent a statistician's nightmare. Last season, Ramirez slashed .285/.330/.427 for the Brew Crew, so it stands to reason that his numbers probably won't remained flat-lined for the rest of the season. More games like Saturday's will help toward that cause.

J.J. Hardy was given a shoulder injection on Saturday.

He'll rest up for a few days before testing his shoulder again on Wednesday. Hardy was originally expected to be back at the end of the month, but that's no longer an option. We won't know how close Hardy is until he begins a rehab assignment. Everth Cabrera has been filling in at shortstop for the Orioles.

Matt Holliday hit a three-run home run in Saturday's win over the Brewers.

Holliday cranked the three-run shot off of Brewers reliever Jeremy Jeffress in the seventh inning, extending the Cards' lead to 5-0. The Brewers would mount a mini-rally in the eighth, but would not move closer than the 5-3 final. It was Holliday's first home run of the season and gave him 10 RBI on the year. He's currently slashing .358/.478/.434 and remains one of the most quietly productive hitters in the game.

Kolten Wong hit an RBI triple in Saturday's win over the Brewers.

The second inning three-bagger was Wong's first of the season and his only hit of the game, as he finished 1-for-4. Wong also struck out once and scored once. He's now hitting .288/.350/.442. If Jason Heyward continues to scuffle, Wong could see time in the two-hole. As of now, he's hitting sixth for yet another strong Cardinals team.

Severino Gonzalez will make a spot start Tuesday against the Cardinals.

Gonzalez's big league debut won't be an easy assignment, but the Phillies don't have many other options. Sean O'Sullivan is on the DL with a knee injury and Dustin McGowan is ill-equipped to be a starter. The 22-year-old Gonzalez has gone 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA in three starts for Triple-A Lehigh.

Wily Peralta pitched well in Saturday's loss to the Cardinals, allowing just two runs on seven hits in the contest.

Nice bounce-back outing for Peralta, who allowed six runs to the Reds in his last start. Against the Cardinals on Saturday, things went much more smoothly. He struck out four and walked just two while scattering seven hits across six innings. Peralta will need more starts like this if he wants to match his numbers from 2014, when, he boasted a 3.53 ERA and a 154/61 K/BB ratio in 198 2/3 innings. A road outing against the Cubs is next on the docket.

David Lough's home run off of Koji Uehara in the bottom of the tenth inning gave the Orioles a 5-4 win.

The Orioles were actually down 4-3 entering the bottom of the tenth inning. The normally reliable Koji Uehara was unable to hold the lead, though, and after a Chris Davis sacrifice fly tied the contest at 4-4, Lough stepped to the plate and delivered his dramatic shot to win it. It was Lough's first home run of the season. Not surprising, given that he hit just four last year. Lough works mostly as a backup outfielder and a late-game defensive substitution. Walk-off home runs are just a bonus.

Corey Dickerson left Saturday's game in the seventh inning.

It's likely a recurrence of the plantar fasciitis Dickerson has battled throughout the year. Drew Stubbs has come on to take his place. Even after going 0-for-3, Dickerson is still hitting .317 with a .635 slugging percentage. If Dickerson misses Sunday's game, it will be his first absence of the season.
