Alshon Jeffery (calf) was spotted playing catch before Thursday's preseason finale.
Jeffery obviously won't be playing on Thursday night, but it's apparently the first time he's been spotted by reporters in over a week. Coach John Fox is guarding Jeffery's status like the nuclear codes, but we'd be surprised if he wasn't ready for the opener in 10 days.
Zach Ertz (groin surgery) remains unsure of his Week 1 status.
Ertz said he's feeling better every day, but that his status for the opener could come down to a game-time decision. It's a massive disappointment for a player who has breakout potential this season. Ertz was already going to have trouble weaning Chip Kelly off of Brent Celek, but now Celek could establish a stranglehold on starting duties. Ertz is worth keeping around as an upside bench option, but his TE1 candidacy is on thin ice.
Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (foot) is playing in Thursday's preseason finale.
It will be the No. 14 overall pick's preseason debut, and means he's officially on track for Week 1. Still getting up to speed on his conditioning, Parker will likely be limited to only a few series. He's not a recommended preseason DFS option.
Browns preseason broadcaster Solomon Wilcots believes Dwayne Bowe is on the roster bubble.
Wilcots came to that conclusion after speaking with Browns coaches. Per Wilcots, Bowe "needs to deliver" in Thursday's preseason finale to ensure his spot on the 53-man roster. Perhaps it's just a motivational tactic from Bowe's coaches, but it speaks volumes that he's playing at all on Thursday. Bowe has been active for just one preseason game, and was held without a catch.
ESPN's Dan Graziano reports unsigned franchise player Jason Pierre-Paul plans to report to the Giants next week, and expects to play "early in the season."
It's the first time anyone has attached a date to Pierre-Paul's return. JPP has been away from the team rehabbing on his own since blowing off one of his index fingers in a July 4 fireworks accident. The G-Men's undermanned defense could desperately use an early-season return from its best pass rusher.
Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall will play in Thursday's preseason finale.
At risk of reading too deeply into it, it could be a sign that Hall's roster spot isn't assured. It's highly unusual for a 31-year-old, 12-year veteran to play in the exhibition finale, even coming off an injury-ruined season.
Ravens first-round WR Breshad Perriman (knee) has yet to resume practicing.
Perriman was on the field prior to Thursday's preseason finale, but wasn't running "at all." At this point, the No. 26 overall pick is looking doubtful for next Sunday's opener. Perriman is nothing more than a late-round dart throw in re-draft leagues.
ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports the Packers are not interested in free agent WR Jarrett Boykin "to this point."
The Pack could be in the market for a veteran receiver, but aren't knocking down the door to sign a wideout who posted a 49/681/3 line with the team in 2013. Green Bay made no effort to re-sign Boykin after he caught just three passes in 13 games last season.
