Aug 19 - 7:00 PM

Aug 19 - 6:58 PM

Tommy Joseph is not in the Phillies' lineup Saturday against the Giants.

Aug 19 - 6:51 PM

Corey Kluber (ankle) will try to throw a side session on Sunday.

Kluber expects to make his next start, though Cleveland's medical staff is calling him 50/50. The Indians will have a better idea of where he stands after Sunday's side session. The former Cy Young winner left Friday's start against Kansas City with a minor ankle sprain. Consider him day-to-day.
Aug 19 - 6:30 PM

Ryan Madson tried to play catch on Saturday but still felt pain in his sprained index finger.

He was hoping to return when first eligible next week but that seems unlikely now. With Madson on the shelf, Brandon Kintzler will handle setup work ahead of closer Sean Doolittle.
Aug 19 - 6:29 PM

Matt Wieters is not in the Nationals' lineup Saturday against the Padres.

It's just a maintenance day for Wieters, who is in the midst of a 1-for-20 dry spell. Jose Lobaton will start behind the plate and bat eighth Saturday against Padres left-hander Travis Wood.
Aug 19 - 6:27 PM

Daniel Murphy was scratched from the Nationals' lineup Saturday against the Padres.

Though he hasn't been diagnosed with any specific injury, manager Dusty Baker noticed that Murphy hasn't been moving well over the past few games. He'll get the night off to recharge his batteries before returning for Sunday's series finale. Howie Kendrick, who had been slated to start in left field, will shift to second base with Alejandro De Aza in left.
Aug 19 - 6:26 PM

Masahiro Tanaka (shoulder) is expected to start Tuesday against the Tigers.

He got the green light after making it through a 37-pitch bullpen session on Friday. Tanaka landed on the DL with shoulder inflammation last week but is already nearing full strength and won't need to make a rehab start. The Yankees' rotation is finally getting healthy with CC Sabathia (knee) returning to the mound Saturday and Tanaka due back Tuesday.
