Following Monday night's loss at Kansas City, coach Bill Belichick scoffed when asked if he'd "evaluate" the quarterback position this week.

Sep 30 - 8:20 AM

Danny Amendola was held without a catch in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs.

Even as one of the three receivers active, Amendola didn't draw a single target. He has just three catches for 16 yards this season, and clearly doesn't have Tom Brady's trust. Amendola is now falling behind Brandon LaFell. He's obviously not worth owning in any format. Amendola may find himself inactive soon.
Sep 30 - 12:38 AM

Julian Edelman caught four passes for 23 yards in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs.

Edelman was targeted eight times on the night, but couldn't win at all against the Chiefs' bigger corners. That left Brandon LaFell to do most of the "damage" the Patriots could muster in the 41-14 blowout loss. After four games, Edelman is on pace for a 104-1,132-4 receiving line. He should definitely come close to those numbers if he stays healthy. Edelman is a locked-in WR2.
Sep 30 - 12:35 AM

Rob Gronkowski caught two passes for 31 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs on Monday night.

Gronkowski was targeted just three times, and was sitting on one catch for 18 yards for much of the night before reeling in a 13-yard touchdown from Jimmy Garoppolo late in the fourth quarter of this 41-14 blowout. While it was a bad night all around for the Patriots, it was at least encouraging to see Gronkowski playing a large chunk of the snaps. His usage rate continues to rise as he works his way back from knee surgery. But it remains clear that Gronk isn't 100 percent or back to his normal self. He's staying afloat fantasy-wise by scoring touchdowns. After four games, Gronk is on pace for a 52-588-12 receiving line. Look for him to easily top those catch and yards totals by season's end.
Sep 30 - 12:27 AM

Dwayne Bowe caught 5-of-6 targets for 81 yards in the Chiefs' Week 4 win over the Patriots on Monday night.

It was easily Bowe's best game of the young season. He caught a couple passes in Darrelle Revis' coverage and was stopped at the one-yard line on one of the grabs just before halftime. Bowe is averaging 5-6 targets per week through three games, and is the No. 3 option in the passing game behind Jamaal Charles and Travis Kelce. He also doesn't make many big plays, leaving him as a WR4.
Sep 30 - 12:23 AM

Brandon LaFell caught six passes for 119 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs.

LaFell was targeted a team-high ten times as one of only three receivers active. With Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola unable to win against Kansas City's bigger corners, LaFell was the go-to guy. His big play was a 44-yard catch-and-run touchdown on a slant where LaFell broke a tackle on his way to the end zone. Don't expect many more of these outings from LaFell. Through four games, he's on pace for a 40-660-4 line. Continue to ignore him in fantasy.
Sep 30 - 12:20 AM

Knile Davis rushed for 107 yards on 16 carries in the Chiefs' Week 4 win over the Patriots.

He added one catch for 12 yards. Even with Jamaal Charles back in the lineup, Davis remained a big part of the offense. He broke off a 48-yard run in the first half to set up a Charles touchdown. Davis then handled a couple series himself with Charles in the locker room getting an IV because of cramping. Expect Davis to see closer to 8-12 touches on a weekly basis the remainder of the season. The Chiefs were up so big on the scoreboard that they were able to run the ball 38 times. Davis remains a must-own handcuff for Charles owners.
Sep 30 - 12:17 AM

Shane Vereen rushed for 26 yards on eight carries in the Patriots' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs, adding 41 yards on five catches.

Vereen saw the bulk of the work in the backfield with the Patriots getting blown out and in pass-first mode. Unfortunately, he didn't do much with his touches, turning in a long gain of nine yards. Through four games, Vereen is on pace for 860 total yards and eight touchdowns. Expectations were higher heading into the season. Vereen will be a touch-dependent RB3 next week vs. Cincinnati.
