Jonathan Stewart has a "severely" sprained knee, and will not be re-evaluated until Friday.

Sep 22 - 1:33 PM

After playing nearly 91 percent of the Falcons' Week 1 defensive snaps, OLB Kroy Biermann was in on just 65 percent in the Falcons Week 3 trouncing of the Bucs.

At first glance, Biermann's usage might seem the product of a blowout, but he saw snaps on every series with the except of Tampa's final possession. While Biermann did see some subpackage snaps, Atlanta rotated Jonathan Massaquoi and Osi Umenyiora on the field in obvious passing situations. This would make sense, as Biermann currently grades out as the No. 45 pass rushing 3-4 outside linebacker among 48 qualifiers at Pro Football Focus.

Panthers RB Mike Tolbert has been diagnosed with a "hairline fracture" in his leg, and ruled out for Week 4.

He's week to week. Tolbert took a big hit late in Sunday's loss, but it was unclear how serious it was since the game was almost over. With Jonathan Stewart battling a "severely" sprained knee, DeAngelo Williams could have the Panthers' backfield all to himself for Week 4 if he can get over his thigh injury. If not, the Panthers will be down to Fozzy Whittaker (quad) and Darrin Reaves. It's a big concern for a banged up Cam Newton.

Speaking at Monday's presser, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin was evasive when asked if he's considered benching Ryan Tannehill.

Philbin left the door ajar for Matt Moore to start against the Raiders in Week 4. "We're going to choose the 46 guys we think can help us win a football game, and we'll go from there," Philbin said. We'd be surprised if the Dolphins decided to pull the plug on their supposed franchise quarterback this quickly, but there's no question he's been one of the league's worst signal callers through the season's first three weeks. Tannehill utterly failed to take advantage of a plus matchup on Sunday, and is sporting a 5.03 YPA through 124 attempts. The heat is going to keep building if he doesn't show meaningful progress this week. Tannehill is officially at risk of an in-game benching.

Speaking Monday, Arian Foster (hamstring) called himself "day to day"

Players are typically bubbling over with enthusiasm when they expect to return, so Foster should be considered highly questionable for the time being. Foster hasn't exactly been the most enlightening with the media of late, however, so it's possible this is just his form of a non-answer. Coach Bill O'Brien will update his status in Monday's presser. For now, Foster owners need to keep Alfred Blue on speed dial for Week 4.

Cardinals RCB Antonio Cromartie has been diagnosed with a hyperextended knee and bone bruise.

It's a serious injury, but at least Cromartie avoided any ligament tears. Jerraud Powers will be forced to step in opposite Patrick Peterson, and opponents will continue to attack the Cardinals through the air rather than on the ground.

Coach Ron Rivera sounded confident Monday about getting DeAngelo Williams (thigh) back for Week 4.

Williams was close to playing against the Steelers on Sunday night, but wasn't quite ready. Perhaps it was for the best, as both Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert went down with injury. The Panthers may have to ride Williams hard against the Ravens in Week 4.

Eric Decker (hamstring) remains a true game-time decision for Monday night against the Bears.

"Even if he plays, you have to wonder how effective he'll be," said beat writer Manish Mehta. Decker did get a limited practice in on Saturday, giving owners some hope. He'll likely test the hammy out in pregame with trainers before making a final call. If Decker can go and is anywhere near 100 percent, he'll have a very tasty matchup against a Charles Tillman-less Bears secondary.
