Andrew Miller picked up four outs and notched his third win Tuesday against the Reds.

We figured the Indians would manage Miller's innings this year in the hopes of having him at peak form in October. It hasn't really been the case thus far, though; he's thrown 22 1/3 innings through 44 games. He's been outstanding, of course, allowing just one run to date. It has to be hard for Terry Francona to resist the temptation to throw him into every close game.

Travis Shaw struck out in all four of his plate appearances to wear a Golden Sombrero in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Well, that's one way for your 11-game hitting streak to come to an end. Shaw is on pace for a 133/29 K/BB ratio this season but is also pacing for 32 home runs and 122 RBI.

Jesse Hahn left his start Tuesday against the Marlins after suffering an apparent injury.

Hahn exited with a trainer after throwing a 90 mph fastball to Marcell Ozuna in the top of the third inning. Look for a status update within the next hour. The right-hander had allowed four earned runs on seven hits and departed the game with the A's trailing 4-1.

Amir Garrett surrendered seven runs in five innings Tuesday against the Indians.

Next time Garrett is sent to Triple-A, it will be for the right reasons. He gave up four homers tonight, bringing his season total to 12 allowed in 45 innings. His ERA is all of the way up to 6.00 now. He's better than that, but he was never a very good fantasy bet for this season.
May 23 - 10:58 PM

Jonathan Villar had a two-RBI single and stole three bases in Tuesday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Villar singled in two runs and stole two bases in the fifth inning and then stole another base after walking in the seventh. He's hitting just .220/.289/.345, but Villar is tied for fourth in baseball with his 12 steals and he's also swatted five home runs.

Jose Ramirez's dreadful May continued Tuesday, as he went 0-for-4 against the Reds.

Ramirez is just 13-for-67 with no homers this month after hitting .330 with six homers in April. Consider it a correction; he entered tonight with the same .825 OPS that he finished last year with.

Eugenio Suarez hit a three-run homer as a pinch-hitter Tuesday against the Indians.

Suarez struggled earlier this month, but he's been a lot better over the last week, hitting three homers. He'll be back in the starting lineup on Wednesday.

Denard Span (hand) said he expects to return to the Giants' starting lineup Wednesday.

Span was held out again on Tuesday with inflammation in his left hand, but tests turned up negative for any major structural damage and he told reporters that he's feeling much better. The veteran center fielder has batted just .258/.296/.398 in 23 games this season for San Francisco.
