D.J. LeMahieu went 3-for-4 and drove in a pair of run against the Padres on Thursday.

The three-hit day brings his batting average up to .344 for the spring, which is very close to the .348 average that won him the National League batting title last season. He has an even .300 career batting average through six seasons of play.

Trevor Story drew a pair of walks, swiped two bases and scored a run in Thursday's win over the Padres.

He went 0-for-2 with two strikeouts in his official at-bats, but found a way to impact the box score nonetheless. He owns a .246 batting average with four home runs in Cactus League action. Story smashed 27 home runs and 72 RBI in just 97 games last year before going down with a thumb injury.

Phillies designated OF Tyler Goeddel for assignment.

That clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Brock Stassi. The 24-year-old was optioned to Double-A Reading last week after hitting just .250 over 28 Grapefruit League at-bats. The Phillies could look for a trade partner before putting him through waivers.

Tyler Anderson allowed two runs on three hits in two innings of work in Thursday's 10-5 win over the Padres.

He struck out three and walked one in his final tune-up of spring training. He finishes his tour of the Cactus League with a 4.08 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings. The southpaw starter had a surprisingly good rookie campaign in 2016, sporting a 3.54 ERA through 19 starts after missing the 2015 season to an arm injury. The 27-year-old can help fantasy teams even though he plays half his games at Coors Field.

Brewers placed RHP Matt Garza on the 10-day disabled list with a strained right groin.

Garza had been scheduled to pitch Friday against the White Sox. The 33-year-old had a rough spring (8.59 ERA over six Cactus League starts) and hasn't been a factor in fantasy for several years. Junior Guerra, Zach Davies, Wily Peralta, Chase Anderson and Jimmy Nelson will round out the Brewers' rotation to begin the year.

An MRI on Kennys Vargas' bruised left foot showed no structural damage.

Vargas went hitless in a minor league game on Wednesday but came out of it no worse for the wear. He'll get another minor league game under his belt on Friday. The Twins sent down ByungHo Park on Thursday, a sign that they're counting on Vargas to be ready for Opening Day Monday against Kansas City.
Mar 30 - 6:31 PM

Orioles reassigned OF Chris Dickerson to minor league camp.

Dickerson had a decent camp, particularly in the power department (four homers in 38 at-bats) but didn't do enough to crack the O's Opening Day roster. The 34-year-old journeyman hasn't played in the big leagues since 2014 and he's running out of chances to make it back.
Mar 30 - 6:06 PM

Orioles reassigned 2B Robert Andino to minor league camp.

Andino was looking to make the team as a backup infielder but lost out to Ryan Flaherty. Before a 13-game stint with the Marlins last year, Andino hadn't played in the big leagues since 2013. He'll begin the year at Triple-A Norfolk.
