Ryon Healy (head) is not in the Athletics' starting lineup on Saturday.

Healy said late Friday that he was good to go and expected to return to action on Saturday, but the A's are opting to give him an extra day of rest after he was hit in the head by a ground ball during Friday's game.

Steven Souza (hip) returned to the Rays' starting lineup on Saturday.

Souza hadn't played since suffering a minor hip injury during an awkward slide in Wednesday's game. The 28-year-old is enjoying a terrific season, slashing .273/.371/.515 with 20 homers, 60 RBI and four stolen bases.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that Nick Burdi was one of the prospects that was discussed in the potential Jaime Garcia deal with the Braves.

Burdi underwent Tommy John surgery in May, and there were rumblings that the medical reports on one of the involved players may have stalled out this deal. Burdi is expected to be sidelined for most of the 2018 season.

Padres' manager Andy Green said Saturday that Erick Aybar is likely heading to the disabled list with his foot injury.

Aybar fouled a ball off of his foot during Friday's game and apparently hasn't improved overnight. Look for an official announcement on his status closer to game time.

Giants optioned INF Jae-gyun Hwang to Triple-A Sacramento.

The 29-year-old struggled in his first taste of major league action, hitting just .167/.231/.278 with one homer, three RBI and an 8/3 K/BB ratio across 39 plate appearances. He'll look to get back on track at Triple-A.

Giants recalled OF/INF Orlando Calixte from Triple-A Sacramento.

The 25-year-old has struggled in his limited action with the Giants this season, slashing .160/.241/.200 with a 10/3 K/BB ratio in 29 plate appearances. He'll function in a utility role.

Giants recalled RHP Albert Suarez from Triple-A Sacramento.

Suarez appeared in 22 games for the Giants in 2016, posting a 4.29 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 54/26 K/BB ratio over 84 innings. He'll function in middle and long relief for the Giants.

Giants optioned LHP Steven Okert to Triple-A Sacramento.

Okert actually pitched well against the Padres on Friday, but the Giants needed a fresh arm in the bullpen and he became the odd-man out. On the season, Okert owns a 6.75 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 16/9 K/BB ratio in 21 1/3 innings.
