Joe Mauer went 2-for-3 in Thursday's loss to the White Sox.

The Twins were unable to come up with an extra-base hit in the 9-0 loss. With his two singles, Mauer is now hitting .281/.352/.395 with four homers and 29 RBI in 61 games this season.

Corey Seager is not in the Dodgers' lineup Thursday against the Mets.

Jose Quintana pitched a sharp game in Thursday's 9-0 win over the Twins, firing off 6 2/3 innings of scoreless ball.

Quintana scattered five hits while striking out nine. He did not walk a batter over his strong 6 2/3 innings of work. The 28-year-old southpaw threw 119 pitches (69 strikes) in the outing. After a slow start to the season, Quintana has limited the opposition to two or fewer runs in three of his last four starts, lowering his ERA from 5.30 to 4.69 in that space. A home start against the Yankees shows next on his schedule.

Zach Britton (forearm) threw a scoreless inning Thursday in a rehab appearance for Low-A Delmarva.

He finished with two strikeouts while throwing 11 of his 16 pitches for strikes. Britton's fastball ranged from 91-95 mph. The All-Star closer should return as soon as he's eligible on July 4.

Nik Turley was blasted for five runs on six hits in just 2/3 of an inning in Thursday's loss to the White Sox.

Turley was out of this one before it even really got started, with the loudest blows in a five-run first coming on two-run home runs to Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier. The 27-year-old southpaw has surrendered 13 runs on 15 hits in just 5 1/3 innings in two starts since the Twins purchased his contract from Triple-A Rochester on June 11. He may well be heading back to Rochester following this most recent debacle.

Brewers signed OF Keston Hiura.

He signed for $4 million, which was a little below his slot value of $4.57 million. An outfielder who can also play second base, Hiura hit .442 with eight homers, 42 RBI and nine steals this past season at UC Irvine.

Ben Zobrist (wrist) ran the bases on Wednesday.

According to Patrick Pinak of MLB.com, Zobrist has "attempted" to hit but still doesn't feel comfortable. "We're not quite there yet," said manager Joe Maddon. "He's tested it regularly. He's still not satisfied." Zobrist landed on the DL with wrist inflammation earlier this month. There's no timetable for his return.

Danny Duffy (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.

Duffy is scheduled to throw 40-45 pitches. He'll need a few starts to get his pitch count back up after missing the last few weeks with a strained oblique. If all goes according to plan, Kansas City's ace should be back around the All-Star break.
