Jorge Bonifacio went 2-for-3 with a go-ahead two-run double, a walk, and a run scored in Friday’s 6-4 victory over the Indians.

The go-ahead rally in the eighth was set up by an error from shortstop Francisco Lindor. Bonifacio has quietly been one of the Royals’ best hitters since his call-up last month, batting .272/.333/.489 with six home runs and 15 RBI over 29 games.

Mike Clevinger surrounded four runs over five innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Friday.

It was an appealing matchup on the surface and Clevinger thrived early with three scoreless frames, but Brandon Moss connected for a three-run homer in the fourth before Mike Moustakas tied things up with a solo shot in the fifth. Clevinger struck out six and walked one on the evening. It’s unclear whether he’ll keep a rotation spot when Corey Kluber comes off the disabled list next week.

Ian Kennedy was handed a no-decision Friday after allowing four runs over five innings versus the Indians.

Kennedy has now failed to complete six innings in four straight starts. His ERA has jumped from 2.08 to 4.43 during that time. Still in search of his first win, he’ll square off against the Tigers next week.

Kelvin Herrera converted his 10th save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning Friday against the Indians.

Herrera notched one strikeout in the frame and worked around a two-out single. The 27-year-old recently hit a bit of a rough patch, but he has bounced back with consecutive scoreless appearances. He’s 10-for-12 in save chances this year to go along with a 4.05 ERA and 20/4 K/BB ratio in 20 innings.

Mike Moustakas went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Friday against the Indians.

Moustakas tied the game with his blast against Mike Clevinger in the fifth inning. The Royals would eventually pull away in the eighth. The 28-year-old has faded significanly since his hot start to the season, but the power has remained. He’s already up to 12 home runs through 42 games, which puts him on pace to easily surpass his career-high of 22 from two years ago.

Jose Ramirez slugged a solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Royals.

It was his seventh home run of the season, but it’s been a while since the last one. He had six through his first 22 games, but he went 22 games without one coming into Friday’s action. Perhaps this will get him going again.

Jacob deGrom struck out 10 and allowed one run over 8 1/3 innings in Friday’s victory over the Pirates.

It was the longest outing by a Mets starter this season. And boy, did they need it. DeGrom allowed just six hits and one walk, with the lone run scoring on a solo homer from Gregory Polanco in the fourth inning. Terry Collins gave him the chance to go the distance initially, but deGrom gave up a leadoff single to Polanco and struck out David Freese looking before being pulled at 118 pitches. DeGrom improved to 4-1 with the victory and now owns a 3.23 ERA and 86/24 K/BB ratio in 64 innings through 10 starts.
May 26 - 10:15 PM

Chad Kuhl was knocked around for five runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Mets on Friday.

Kuhl gave up eight hits, including a pair of homers to Neil Walker. The 24-year-old tossed five scoreless innings last time out against the Phillies, but he just hasn’t been able to show much in the way of consistency. He owns a ghastly 6.29 ERA through 10 starts.
