Falcons coach Dan Quinn suggested free agent DE Dwight Freeney could be an option for the team.

Freeney managed three sacks on limited snaps last season in Atlanta, and they could use some help with Vic Beasley set to miss a month with a torn hamstring. Quinn said Freeney is on their radar, and they still talk to him "on a regular basis." If Freeney decides to play -- Quinn said he "certainly wants to" -- it sounds like the Falcons will be interested.

Jarrad Davis suffered a concussion Week 2 against the Giants.

Davis was injured on a tackle midway through the fourth quarter on Monday night. Officially in the concussion protocol, Davis will be up against it to be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Falcons. The first-round pick has played well against the run through two weeks.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan expects Giants CB Janoris Jenkins (ankle) to play in Week 3.

Both Jenkins and MLB B.J. Goodson (leg) were forced to miss Monday's game, but Raanan reports they are only "dealing with one-week injuries." Jenkins returning would be good news for a defense which has to go up against the Eagles' suddenly strong passing attack on Sunday.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan expects Giants MLB B.J. Goodson (leg) to return this week.

Raanan reports Goodson and CB Janoris Jenkins (ankle) are "dealing with one-week injuries." It is good news for a defense which looks like it will have to carry the offense all season. New York has a tough matchup with the Eagles in Philadelphia this week.

Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports Corey Coleman (broken hand) is expected to be placed on injured reserve.

That would cost the receiver at least eight weeks. Coleman was able to come back after just six weeks from a broken hand last season, but this one required surgery, perhaps extending the timetable. Kenny Britt would seem like the No. 1 receiver with Coleman sidelined, but he seems like he does not want to even be on the field right now. Rashard Higgins may end up emerging as the go-to option.

Free agent DE/OLB Lamarr Houston worked out for the Saints on Tuesday.

Houston was released with an injury settlement by the Bears earlier this month. He was limited to two games last season, but Houston is just a year removed from an eight-sack campaign in 2015. He would be a solid addition for a Saints defense which needs all the help it can get.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jordy Nelson (quad) is "50-50" for Week 3 against the Bengals.

Nelson has avoided a serious injury, but it is still possible he is forced to miss a game. The news for Randall Cobb's shoulder injury is even better, and it does not sound like he will miss any time. Despite the scare on Sunday night, the Packers' receiver corps appears to still be intact.

Kenny Golladay caught 1-of-3 targets for eight yards in the Lions' Week 2 win over the Giants.

Don't sour on Golladay after this one. He still played more snaps than T.J. Jones as the No. 3 receiver, but the Lions only threw the ball 21 times total and four times after halftime. They held a comfy lead much of the night. Matthew Stafford did look Golladay's way a couple times on jump balls. He'll be on the WR3/4 map next week in a potential shootout with the Falcons.
