Jorge De La Rosa's season debut didn't go well, as the lefty was hammered for nine runs (seven earned) in two innings in a loss to the Padres on Monday.

De La Rosa missed the first two weeks of the season with a groin injury. The Padres had no issues squaring him up, as the lefty yielded nine hits and a walk while striking out three. The nine runs were split up with five in the first inning and four in the second. De La Rosa will try to bounce back in his next start at home against the Giants.

Trevor Bauer continued to impress, hurling seven scoreless frames, but took a no-decision as the Indians lost 4-3 on Monday.

Bauer allowed just four hits and a pair of walks while striking out seven. Considered by many to be a breakout candidate for the 2015 season, Bauer has bolted out to a 2-0 record with a 0.95 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP, and a 26/11 K/BB ratio in 19 innings. He'll need to have the command he showed on Monday if his success is going to last over a full season. Bauer matches up against the Tigers in Detroit next.

John Danks allowed three runs in six innings, earning a no-decision as the Indians lost to the White Sox on Monday.

Danks allowed a pair of home runs: a solo home run to Ryan Raburn in the second inning, and another solo home run to Brett Hayes in the fifth. Overall, the lefty gave up six hits, walked two, and struck out four. All things considered, it was an improvement over his first two starts. Danks will bring a 6.06 ERA into his next start against the Tigers in Detroit.

Cody Allen let a three-run lead slip through his fingers in the ninth inning as the White Sox rallied for a win over the Indians on Monday.

The White Sox were hitting everything Allen was throwing. The right-hander allowed six hits and a walk, leading to four runs in one-third of an inning. It's his second disastrous outing in five appearances to start the season. Control has been an issue for Allen early. It wasn't an issue last year, as Allen posted a 91/26 K/BB ratio with a 2.07 ERA and 24 saves in 69 2/3 innings. It's early, but some concern is warranted. Allen, however, has job security for now.
Apr 20 - 11:30 PM

Melky Cabrera delivered a walk-off RBI single to cap a four-run ninth inning in Monday's win against the Indians.

The White Sox had been shut out through eight innings, but rallied for four runs in the bottom of the ninth inning against Indians closer Cody Allen. After Gordon Beckham had tied the game with an RBI single, Cabrera singled to left-center to send the White Sox home happy. He finished 1-for-4 with a walk on the evening. Cabrera has been slow out of the gate, batting .260/.275/.280 with only one extra-base hit.

Ryan Raburn's solo home run was for naught as the Indians dropped Monday's game late to the White Sox.

Raburn ripped a John Danks offering to left field to put the Indians up 1-0 in the second inning, his first homer of the season. He finished 2-for-3 with a walk and a double as well. Raburn has a career .794 OPS against left-handers, but his fantasy prospects are minimal at this stage of his career.

Kendrys Morales went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored as the Royals defeated the Twins 7-1 on Monday.

Morales doubled in a run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie, then knocked in another run with a single in the eighth to make it 5-1 at the time. Morales had a dreary 2014 season but has come out of the gates swinging to start this season, having hit two home runs, knocked in nine runs, and compiled a .358/.424/.566 triple-slash line. Morales has hit safely in 12 of 13 games so far.
Apr 20 - 11:18 PM

Paulo Orlando finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run triple to help the Royals top the Twins on Monday.

Orlando has carved out a niche for himself in the triples department, as his two-run three-bagger in the eighth inning marked his fifth of the young season. Coming into the evening, Sam Fuld was the only other batter in baseball with at least three triples. In 29 plate appearances, Orlando is batting .269/.345/.654. Orlando, by the way, got another start against a right-handed starting pitcher in Kyle Gibson, something worth noting.
