Cardinals intern LB coach Jen Welter called her time with the team "a complete win."

The NFL’s first female coach will see her training camp internship come to an end but said, "The biggest question coming in was would guys in the NFL respond to a woman coaching them, and the obvious answer is yes." Welter worked with the Arizona inside linebackers this summer under defensive coordinator James Bettcher. Arizona’s D/ST unit is currently the sixth group off the board in fantasy drafts.

Eagles ILB Kiko Alonso is expected to play in the team's third preseason game.

After missing all of his sophomore season with a torn ACL and the first two preseason games with a concussion, it will be Alonso's first game action since 2013. DeMeco Ryans' recovery from an Achilles injury has gone slower than expected, so Alonso and Mychal Kendricks should open the season as the Eagles' primary inside linebackers.

The Buffalo defense will emphasize focus on pre-snap communication in their third preseason game.

"I think that’s going to be the main thing for us," DT Kyle Williams told BuffaloBills.com. New head coach Rex Ryan will work to improve on an outstanding 2014 season for the Buffalo defense that is being selected as the second D/ST off the board in fantasy drafts.

Lions DE Phillip Hunt "has been one of the team’s best pass rushers" this preseason according to the Detroit Free Press.

Hunt may be on the bubble when roster cuts roll around, but he has been a solid addition to the Detroit defensive line that is attempting to fill the void left by Ndamukong Suh. The Detroit D/ST group was a solid producer in fantasy leagues in 2014, but is being drafted 16th among fantasy defenses this summer. If the Lions can replace some of Suh’s impact with new DT Haloti Ngata, then the Detroit D/ST could provide value as a late-round selection.

BJ Kissel of KCChiefs.com noted the creativity of defensive coordinator Bob Sutton after Friday’s preseason victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Kissel highlighted a specific play in which "Sutton dialed up a pretty exotic blitz that had defensive lineman Mike Catapano dropping into coverage on third-and-eight." With Sutton likely opening up his defensive toolbox even further when the regular season arrives, the Chiefs could repeat their 2014 top-five finish in sacks among NFL defenses. The KC D/ST is a solid option for the 2015 fantasy season and get a nice matchup against Brian Hoyer and the Arian Foster-less Texans in Week 1.

Chris Johnson (hamstring) has not been ruled out for Sunday's preseason game.

Johnson returned to practice on Friday, but he was very limited. Johnson will test his hamstring with the trainer before the game to determine his status. Arizona could decide to take play it safe with their new running back, but with the first-team unlikely to play much if at all in the fourth preseason game, this might be the last chance to get Johnson run with the starters before the regular season.

The Seattle D/ST currently carries the highest ADP among fantasy defenses.

According to average draft position data from FantasyPros.com, the Seahawks are being selected first among fantasy D/ST units after finishing the 2014 season first in both points and yards allowed per game. Drafting a fantasy defense early is generally an ill-advised move, but new defensive coordinator Kris Richard should easily be able to keep the Seattle defense near the top of the NFL once again.

Dolphins OC Bill Lazor said WR Rishard Matthews is having his most consistent camp.

"He’s made plays in virtually every practice — down the field, physical plays, fast plays," Lazor said. "I’m really proud of him and rooting for him." Matthews tried to force his way out of Miami after the Dolphins added three receivers this offseason, but it appears he has settled into the No. 5 spot on the depth chart. The 25-year-old has flashed when given opportunities in the past and could be an interesting trade chip if Miami feels comfortable with their depth at wide receiver.
