Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder, groin) threw four scoreless innings Wednesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

It was the third rehab start for Ryu, who remains on track for a mid-June season debut. The left-hander struck out three, walked none, and scattered five hits over his four shutout frames. He induced a ton of groundballs, which is usually a positive sign that his stuff is working. Ryu and his 3.17 career major league ERA are worth stashing in all mixed fantasy leagues.

Marlins signed C Carlos Corporan to a minor league contract.

Corporan was released from the Rays' Triple-A affiliate last week after batting .200/.246/.308 over his first 70 plate appearances. He'll serve as depth for Miami.

Yankees RHP prospect Luis Cedeno yielded just one hit over six shutout innings Tuesday in a win for Low-A Charleston.

The only hit he allowed came in the fifth inning when he surrendered a leadoff single to West Virginia right-fielder Ryan Nagle. Cedeno looked sharp in his second start of the year, throwing 50 of his 79 pitches for strikes while finishing with four strikeouts and only two walks. The 21-year-old is in his second year with Charleston after going 3-6 with a 3.52 ERA in nine starts for the RiverDogs in 2015.

Rays purchased the contract of RHP Ryan Garton from Triple-A Durham.

Garton was rocking a 2.38 ERA and 29/6 K/BB ratio in 22 2/3 innings this season at the Triple-A level. The 26-year-old right-hander could do well in a middle relief role. He will be making his major league debut.

Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the Marlins' starting lineup on Wednesday in Tampa Bay.

Yelich has now missed four straight games with what's being called "back spasms." Cole Gillespie will start in left field and bat eighth against Matt Andriese.

Rockies 3B prospect Josh Fuentes delivered a career-high five hits Tuesday in a win for Low-A Asheville.

He plated four runs in a convincing 17-7 victory over Greenville. The 23-year-old opened the year in a 1-for-19 rut but has hit .521 over his last 21 games to raise his average from .053 to .411. Despite appearing in only 27 games, Fuentes is tied for third in the South Atlantic League with 14 doubles. A whopping 18 of Fuentes' 37 hits this year have gone for extra bases.

Giancarlo Stanton is not in the Marlins' lineup Wednesday.

Ichiro Suzuki will play right field and bat leadoff versus Rays right-hander Matt Andriese. Stanton hit his 12th home run of the season on Tuesday night, but he had been in a minor slump since an outfield collision with Marcell Ozuna on May 15 in Washington, D.C. He'll take a day of mental and physical rest.
May 25 - 2:39 PM

Denard Span is getting a normal day of rest Wednesday.

He was in the original lineup, but Giants manager Bruce Bochy ultimately elected to give the 32-year-old outfielder a day off for the matinee game versus the Padres. Span should be fine to return to action for Friday's series opener at Coors Field. Gregor Blanco is starting in center field Wednesday and Kelby Tomlinson is playing left.
