Anibal Sanchez allowed two runs - one earned - and two hits with no walks and four strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision in San Diego on Saturday.

Sanchez has posted a 2.45 ERA over 11 innings in two outings since being summoned from Triple-A Toledo on June 18. He has re-emerged as a useful fantasy option if you need help in the back end of your rotation in deeper AL play. His next start is scheduled for Friday against the Indians at Comerica Park.

Nicholas Castellanos (back) returned to the lineup Saturday against the Padres, finishing 1-for-4.

Castellanos was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a tight back, but he didn't show any ill effects of the injury Saturday and was able to go the distance. With Castellanos back in the mix, Dixon Machado was back to a reserve role.

Ben Gamel was hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts in Saturday's loss against the Astros.

Gamel's 15-game hitting streak was snapped, although he is still hitting a robust .418 (28-for-63) with 17 runs scored, two homers and eight RBI over the past 16 outings. He is slashing .346/.403/.490 as his breakout season continues.
Jun 25 - 3:13 AM

Cody Bellinger took the collar in Saturday's game against the Rockies, stopping a nine-game hitting streak.

It's a rarity when Bellinger doesn't hit a home run, let alone reach base at all. That's how high the rookie has set the bar. He is still hitting .317 (13-for-41) with nine runs scored, five homers and 12 RBI over the past 10 outings.
Jun 25 - 3:08 AM

Yasmani Grandal finished with a single, double and a run scored across four at-bats in Saturday's win against the Rockies.

Grandal has hit safely in each of his past five games, and he has three consecutive multi-hit efforts. He is a career .242 hitter, so his .272 mark overall on the season is the biggest surprise of all of his offensive stats to date.
Jun 25 - 3:06 AM

Justin Turner was hitless in two at-bats with three walks and a run scored in Saturday's win against Colorado.

Turner's average has tumbled from .399 to .388 over the past four games, although he has a three-hit game during the span. He has also scored at least one run in seven straight games. He didn't get aboard via hit on Saturday, but he was still very productive with the three walks. That's now 21 walks and just 25 strikeouts across 188 at-bats this season.
Jun 25 - 3:03 AM

Clayton Kershaw allowed just three singles, a double and a walk over six scoreless innings while striking out eight Colorado batters in a win Saturday.

Kershaw has been winning on a regular basis, but he has also been serving up plenty of long balls lately. Saturday's start was his first outing since May 23 where he did not have one of his pitches leave the year. He'll look to keep it rolling in Saturday's road game in San Diego.
