Carlos Gomez is not in the Rays' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Things haven't gone well for Gomez in his first season with the Rays, as he's slashing just .197/.272/.336 with seven homers, 15 RBI and a 62/14 K/BB ratio. Mallex Smith is starting in his place in right field and batting eighth for the Rays against Sonny Gray and the Yankees.

Addison Russell (finger) returned to the Cubs' starting lineup on Saturday.

Russell was held out of the lineup on Friday due to renewed soreness in his left middle finger, but all appears to be well now. He's batting seventh against Anthony DeSclafani and the Reds on Saturday afternoon in Chicago.

Javier Baez is absent from the Cubs' starting lineup on Saturday.

With no known injury issues at play, it looks to be just a regular day of rest for Baez. Ben Zobrist is starting in his place at second base and batting third for the Cubs on Saturday against the Reds.

Kris Bryant is not in the Cubs' starting lineup for Saturday afternoon's showdown against the Reds.

It's nothing more than a routine day of rest for the hard-hitting third baseman. Tommy La Stella is starting in his place at the hot corner and batting leadoff against Anthony DeSclafani and the Reds.

As expected, Eduardo Escobar returned to the Twins' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.

Escobar was held out of Friday's lineup due to an elbow contusion, but did appear in the game as a pinch hitter and remain to play an inning in the field. He's starting at third base and batting third for the Twins against Yovani Gallardo and the Rangers on Saturday.

Ronald Guzman is absent from the Rangers' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Twins.

It looks as though Guzman will continue to see more days off as the Rangers look to keep Jurickson Profar's bat in the lineup. Profar is starting at third base on Friday while Adrian Beltre shifts to the designated hitter role and Joey Gallo starts at first base.

Athletics recalled OF Nick Martini from Triple-A Sacramento.

The 27-year-old outfielder played in just three games during his first stint with the Athletics, going 0-for-9. He'll provide depth in the outfield for the Athletics, but won't see enough playing time to be relevant from a fantasy perspective.

Athletics optioned RHP Chris Bassitt to Triple-A Nashville.

Bassitt was hit hard as the Athletics dropped the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the White Sox. He'll bide his time at Triple-A until the A's need another spot starter.
