Buster Posey (foot) is in the Giants starting lineup on Saturday.

Posey was forced to leave Friday's game after fouling a ball off of his back leg. He suffered only a minor contusion though and is back behind the dish and batting third for the Giants against Ivan Nova and the Yankees on Saturday afternoon.

Maikel Franco (wrist) is not in the Phillies starting lineup on Saturday.

Franco was drilled by a Gerrit Cole pitch on his wrist on Friday night and is sitting out on Saturday as a precautionary measure. He's considered day-to-day and should return for Sunday's series finale.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Marlins are among the teams that have been discussing Andrew Cashner with the Padres.

The Orioles are also known to be negotiating with the Padres. The Marlins could become a legitimate title contender in the National League with the addition of a second starter behind Jose Fernandez, and Cashner could fit the bill potentially.

Jung Ho Kang is not in the Pirates starting lineup on Saturday.

As well as dealing with some off-field issues, Kang's performance at the plate has fallen off considerably in recent weeks. David Freese is starting in his place at third base on Saturday and will bat fifth against Aaron Nola and the Phillies.
Jul 23 - 12:11 PM

Jeff Samardzija has had his scheduled start against the Yankees pushed back to Sunday.

That means it'll be Johnny Cueto, not Samardzija, taking on Ivan Nova and the Yankees on Saturday. Make sure to adjust your lineups accordingly if you had planned on attacking Samardzija in daily leagues.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that the Orioles and Blue Jays are the leaders in the pursuit of Melvin Upton.

The interest in Upton has certainly intensified in the past day or so, and it's looking increasingly likely that he'll be wearing a new uniform in August. While a park shift away from Petco Park could seem like a boon to his fantasy value, he hasn't handled changes of scenery well in the past, and isn't likely to land with a manager as willing to run as Andy Green has been this season.
Jul 23 - 11:23 AM

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Saturday that Russell Martin (knee) is feeling much better.

Martin sat out Friday's game due to a minor knee injury. He's out again on Saturday, but that's a product of knuckleballer R.A. Dickey being on the hill for the Jays. Look for Martin to be back behind the dish for Sunday's series finale against the Mariners.
Jul 23 - 10:51 AM

Shawn O'Malley is starting at shortstop and batting ninth for the Mariners on Saturday.

He gets the challenge of facing Jays' knuckleballer R.A. Dickey. With Ketel Marte on the disabled list, the door is open for O'Malley to see some extra time in the infield over the next week or so.
