Travis d'Arnaud (wrist) went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored Sunday in a rehab game with Triple-A Las Vegas.

D'Arnaud, who is working back from a bone bruise in his wrist, is now 5-for-14 (.357) during his minor league rehab assignment. The expectation is that he will stick around to catch Steven Matz (elbow) on Tuesday, but he's not far off. Rene Rivera has been red-hot during his absence, so it will be interesting to see how Terry Collins balances the playing time moving forward.

Craig Mish of Fantasy Sports Radio reports that the Padres are considering calling up pitching prospect Dinelson Lamet to join their rotation this week.

Lamet, 24, has put together a 3.23 ERA and 50/20 K/BB ratio over 39 innings at Triple-A El Paso this season. He has control issues but also boasts a nice arm and could potentially be worth a look in deeper fantasy formats. He was ranked before the season by MLB.com as the Padres' No. 10 prospect.

According to David Lennon of Newsday, the Mets are open to activating Steven Matz (elbow) after Tuesday's start with Triple-A Las Vegas.

Matz, who is working his way back from a flexor strain, allowed one run on two hits and two walks over three innings in his first rehab start at High-A St. Lucie last Thursday. Ideally he would get at least two more starts in the minors, but the state of the Mets' rotation could have them move up the timeline. Either way, Matz should be stashed away in most fantasy leagues.

The Dodgers are experimenting with using outfielder Brett Eibner as a pitcher.

The Dodgers still plan to use Eibner primarily as an outfielder, but proving himself as a pitcher could help him justify a roster spot. He has thrown several bullpen sessions to build arm strength and work on his secondary pitches. "He’s got a great arm," said Dodgers pitching coach Rick Honeycutt. "We’ll start fine-tuning a little bit and see if there’s something there." Eibner, 28, played the outfield and pitched at the University of Arkansas from 2008-10.

Phil Hughes will be placed on the 10-day disabled list with stiffness in his throwing shoulder.

Hughes gave up five runs -- including three homers -- over just four innings in Sunday's loss to the Royals. He said after the game that he's feeling "a lot of the same symptoms I was experiencing last year" prior to surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome, but more should be known after he's examined on Monday. Hughes has struggled with a 5.74 ERA over nine starts this season.

Yasiel Puig (back) struck out as a pinch-hitter in Sunday's game against the Marlins.

Puig was held out of the starting lineup for the second straight day due to back tightness, but it seems like he's moving in the right direction. Consider him day-to-day.

Mike Napoli clobbered his 10th home run of the season on Sunday as the Rangers dispatched the Tigers 5-2.

Napoli finished the night 2-for-3 and also drew a pair of walks. His mammoth blast into the camera well in center field in the fifth inning traveled an estimated 452 feet. Even with the strong day at the plate though, Napoli is still hitting just .188/.262/.416 with 10 homers and 23 RBI on the season.

Jonathan Lucroy went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI as the Rangers topped the Tigers on Sunday night in Detroit.

Lucroy got the Rangers on the board with an RBI single in the first inning, then he capped off the scoring with an RBI double in the ninth. His bat has started to heat up after his move to the cleanup spot in the lineup, and he's now hitting .277/.320/.412 with three long balls and 12 RBI.
