Giancarlo Stanton launched two more homers Monday in the Marlins' 4-0 defeat of the Rangers.

Stanton opened the game's scoring with a two-run shot in the top of the first inning off Rangers starter Martin Perez, and he added a solo blast in the top of the eighth off reliever Jeremy Jeffress. The 27-year-old slugger is up to 32 home runs on the season -- just six away from a new career high.

Adrian Beltre went 4-for-4 in the Rangers' loss to the Marlins on Monday.

Beltre singled in all four of his trips to the plate, though he finished with zero runs scored and zero RBI in Miami's 4-0 blanking of Texas. The 38-year-old third baseman now has 2,993 hits for his career -- seven away from 3,000.

Adam Conley fired seven scoreless innings Monday in the Marlins' defeat of the Rangers.

Conley gave up seven hits, but six of those were singles and he tallied five strikeouts against zero walks over his seven impressive frames. The 27-year-old left-hander still carries a disappointing 5.62 ERA and 1.49 WHIP on the season, but he's capable of a strong finish. A home matchup against the last-place Reds will come next.

Martin Perez gave up three earned runs over seven innings Monday in a loss to the Marlins.

Giancarlo Stanton did his thing in the top of the first inning, belting a two-run homer to left field to put Miami up 2-0. Perez settled in from there, but the Rangers' offense provided him with zero runs of support as he fell to 5-8 on the season. The left-hander will carry a 4.67 ERA into his next scheduled start at home versus the Orioles.

Brad Brach worked a scoreless eighth inning Monday in the Orioles' win over the Rays.

Brach allowed a two-out single to Evan Longoria and then walked Logan Morrison, but he struck out Jesus Sucre to erase that threat. The 31-year-old right-hander has been a little less dominant lately, but he still holds a strong 2.70 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 46/13 K/BB ratio 43 1/3 total innings this season. There's talk of the Orioles trading Brach (and Zach Britton) ahead of the July 31 deadline.

Shawn O'Malley (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas on Monday.

He went 0-for-3 while playing seven innings at second base. O'Malley is working his way back from May shoulder surgery.

Kevin Gausman struck out eight batters over six shutout innings Monday in the Orioles' 5-0 victory at Tampa Bay.

Gauman issued three walks and surrendered five hits, but he kept the Rays from doing any meaningful damage. The 26-year-old right-hander has now put together two excellent pitching lines since Orioles manager Buck Showalter suggested that he might be on the verge of a demotion to the minor leagues. He still has an ugly 5.79 ERA and 1.72 WHIP for the year.

Manny Machado drove in two runs and stole his sixth base of the season Monday versus the Rays.

Machado plated both Ruben Tejada and Joey Rickard with a single to center in the top of the eighth and then promptly swiped second base. He finished 1-for-4 with a strikeout in the victory.
