Jesse James (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.

It puts him on track to play Sunday against Chicago. James scored a pair of touchdowns in Week 1 but came back to Earth with just 27 yards last week versus Minnesota. He's a hit-or-miss TE2.

Chester Rogers (hamstring) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Rogers practiced fully last Friday but must have had a setback. He's a long shot for Sunday's home game with Cleveland. T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncreif and Kamar Aiken will line up as the Colts' top wideouts in Week 3.

Marlon Mack (shoulder) didn't practice on Thursday.

It's a downgrade from Wednesday when he put in a limited session. Mack scored a touchdown in Week 1 but ranks dead-last among qualified running backs in yards per carry (1.3). Robert Turbin should see more work if Mack can't get the green light for Week 3 versus Cleveland.

A study of deceased ex-Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez's brain revealed a case of Stage 3 CTE.

Stage 3 CTE is associated with "cognitive impairment and trouble with executive functions like planning and organizing." Hernandez was one of the youngest ex-players to be diagnosed with the brain disorder, which is the result of repeated head trauma. Serving a life sentence for murder, Hernandez committed suicide in April.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said he expects Jermaine Gresham (ribs) to play against the Cowboys in Week 3.

Gresham was back at practice Thursday after missing last week's game with a rib injury and should be all systems go for Monday night's primetime game with Dallas. Troy Niklas started in Gresham's place last week at Indianapolis.

Sam Bradford (knee) was officially "limited" in Thursday's practice.

It would appear Bradford is on track to return against the Bucs. If he does indeed suit up, he will be a mid-range QB2 at less than 100 percent against a feisty defense.
Sep 21 - 4:20 PM

Rob Gronkowski (groin) was officially "limited" in Thursday's practice.

It puts Gronk on track to play against the Texans. He will likely remain limited on Friday. Perhaps the Patriots will create the impression he's a game-time decision, but Pats/Texans kick off at 1ET. Fantasy owners will have clarity when setting their lineups.
Sep 21 - 4:17 PM

Cardinals ILB Deone Bucannon (ankle) will make his 2017 debut in Week 3.

Coach Bruce Arians did say Bucannon will be on a snap count. Once he's back to full health/conditioning, Bucannon should be an every-down player.
