Casey Janssen is set to undergo an MRI exam on his ailing shoulder.

Janssen reported soreness in his shoulder and had difficulty getting loose before his last outing. The Nationals should have an update on his status after the exam, though he appears likely to begin the season on the disabled list.

Josh Donaldson hit his fourth homer of the spring Sunday off the Orioles' Ubaldo Jimenez.

It's the first time he's hit four spring homers in his career. Donaldson is batting .318 in 44 at-bats.

Shaun Marcum said Sunday that he will report to Triple-A Columbus.

The veteran right-hander remains in big league camp, but has already been informed by manager Terry Francona that he will not make the Opening Day roster. He has pitched well in Cactus League play, compiling a 1.29 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 2/0 K/BB ratio over seven innings of work.

Dillon Gee yielded two runs in seven innings Sunday in the Mets' 3-2 defeat of the Cardinals.

Despite some rumors last week that the Mets could shift to Rafael Montero at the back of their rotation, Gee has done plenty to secure the spot. Since Zack Wheeler went down, he's pitched 14 2/3 innings, surrendering just the two runs he allowed today. We actually would prefer Montero from a fantasy perspective, but Gee deserves the chance to sink or swim.

J.P. Arencibia was scratched from Sunday's game due to a flexor mass strain.

The injury has kept the veteran backstop out of action since Thursday. At this point, it's very unlikely that he'll be ready for the start of the season, and probably wasn't going to crack the Orioles' Opening Day roster even if he had been completely healthy.
Mar 29 - 4:17 PM

Devin Mesoraco left Sunday's game against the Angels with a cramp in his left quad.

Mesoraco pulled up while rounding third base on a double by teammate Brennan Boesch. It doesn't sound like the injury is serious, but should sideline the young backstop for a couple of days. If it's indeed just a cramp, it's possible he'll be OK for Opening Day.
Mar 29 - 4:15 PM

Marco Gonzales pitched 4 2/3 innings of one-run ball Sunday in his start against the Mets.

This was supposed to be Jaime Garcia's start, but he was scratched due to his shoulder. Before Garcia's setback, Gonzales seemed to be essentially out of the mix for a rotation spot in the three-way battle with Carlos Martinez. He'd still be plenty intriguing if given the nod, but we imagine that Martinez is going to be the choice.
Mar 29 - 4:13 PM

Lucas Duda went 3-for-4 with a couple of RBI against the Cardinals on Sunday.

A nice day for Duda, starting against a lefty. John Mayberry Jr. will almost certainly outproduce Duda versus southpaws this season, but the Mets will go with Duda as an everyday guy anyway, at least initially. Duda has gone 5-for-8 the last two days to lift his spring average from .129 to .231.
