Falcons first-round SS Keanu Neal exited Thursday night's third preseason game against the Dolphins with a knee injury.

Neal's left knee looked to buckle on a replay of the play he was injured on, but reports are trainers were working on his right knee. Neal had to be escorted off the field and eventually walked to the locker room under his own power. It was a non-contact injury, suggesting some sort of ligament issue.

The Indianapolis Star calls Robert Turbin the Colts' "likely No. 2 back."

During an abysmal preseason, spring hype bunny Josh Ferguson has plummeted to No. 4 on the depth chart behind Turbin and Jordan Todman. Todman is also a core special teams player, which assures him a spot on the game-day roster. Assuming Ferguson even makes the 53, he could open the season as a healthy scratch.

Jermon Bushrod and Laremy Tunsil are the Dolphins' starting guards for Thursday's regular season dress rehearsal.

Neither player has run with their job the way the Dolphins had hoped this summer, but both are firmly on track to start Week 1. Tunsil is probably a little more secure than Bushrod, who has been struggling to put away Billy Turner. Turner is a bad player.

A.J. Green's first child is due in "about a month."

Green said Thursday that he "will miss a game if it comes to that," and there's "no way" he would miss the birth of his first born. This is a respectable stance from Green, but also one that could have fantasy implications. It sounds like the child's due date is near the Bengals' Week 3 game against Denver.

Appearing on Mike Clay's Sirius Fantasy show, ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold stated that Trevor Siemian "has won the starting job."

Siemian apparently "won the starting job" in a preseason game he was pick sixed by 49ers FS Eric Reid. More accurately, Mark Sanchez outright lost the starting job with three turnovers in Denver's first two exhibitions, and Paxton Lynch isn't quite ready yet. Siemian is on track to start Week 1, but if he starts the season slow, coach Gary Kubiak could have a quick hook.

Free agent S Donte Whitner will visit the Panthers on Friday.

It could be an indication the Panthers aren't sold on third-year pro Tre Boston opposite FS Kurt Coleman. Whitner was cut by the rebuilding Browns in April, but had a passable 2015. Whitner's lone previous visit came in April to the Rams, but he's the kind of player who could get a big boost from the Panthers' DB-friendly scheme. He can't be that much worse than Roman Harper.

ESPN New York reports the Jets want Matt Forte to be a "major factor" in the passing game.

Catching the ball is one of Forte's best skills, but it's also the primary reason the Jets re-signed Bilal Powell to a three-year, $11.25 million contract. Forte caught 102 passes in the Bears' warped 2014 offense, but saw that number plummet to 44 last season. 50 seems like a reasonable over/under for his receptions.

Seventh-round RB Dwayne Washington is expected to make the Lions' 53-man roster.

Washington's odds got a huge boost when the Lions cut Stevan Ridley loose. "I’ve been impressed with some of the things he’s done," OC Jim Bob Cooter said. "When the guy gets the ball, he does impressive things." Washington figures to open the year behind Zach Zenner for No. 3 duties, but is an elite athlete. He has eight carries for 34 yards through two preseason games.
