Sal Romano allowed five runs over five innings with six strikeouts in a no decision against the Cubs on Sunday.

Romano was strong through the first four innings, but things fell apart on the right-hander in the fifth, as he allowed all five runs in that frame. There’s been more good than bad for Romano as of late, but he still owns a 5.40 ERA, and is always a risky play in fantasy. We’ll see him back on the mound when the Reds and Romano take on the Brewers on Friday.

Mike Montgomery struck out six hitters while allowing four runs over six-plus innings in a no decision versus the Reds on Sunday.

Montgomery was much better than his line indicates, as he was exceptional against the Reds’ lineup before running trouble into the seven that his bullpen couldn’t bail him out of. He was able to overcome command problems in his start against the Dodgers, but he had no such issues against Cincinnati with just two walks. Montgomery’s ERA has dropped from 5.33 to 3.39 since moving to the rotation, and his WHIP is a strong 1.15 on the 2018 campaign. He’ll look to keep this good run going against the Twins on Saturday.

Clay Buchholz was lifted from Sunday's start against the Pirates with tightness in his left side.

Buchholz had thrown just 53 pitches over five scoreless frames before being pulled. If it's an oblique injury -- and it almost certainly is -- Buchholz likely will require a disabled list stint.

Padres designated LHP Tyler Webb for assignment.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Robert Stock. Webb has struggled in his brief time in the majors the last few years, but as a lefty with a nice strikeout rate in the minors there could be some interest in him on waivers.

Phillies activated OF Dylan Cozens from the 10-day disabled list.

Cozens missed two weeks with a strained left quad. He'll get the occasional start in the corner outfield spots.
Jun 24 - 3:35 PM

Phillies placed INF Jesmuel Valentin on the paternity leave list.

He'll be away for 1-3 games. Dylan Cozens has been activated from the DL to take Valentin's roster spot.
Jun 24 - 3:33 PM

Travis Shaw departing Sunday's game against the Cardinals after appearing to aggravate his right wrist injury.

Shaw grimaced after fouling a ball off in the third inning and eventually walked into the clubhouse after a conversation with Brewers manager Craig Counsell and the trainer. He's dealt with a sore wrist for about a week and might be in need of a disabled list stint at this point. The club should have more on his status after the game.
Jun 24 - 3:23 PM

X-rays on Brandon Nimmo's right hand came back negative.

Nimmo had to exit Sunday's game after being plunked by three pitches (although only two of them officially counted), but he managed to escape with merely a bruised right pinkie. Consider him day-to-day.
