Trey Mancini bashed his 14th home run of the season Sunday in the Orioles’ victory over the Rays.

He ended Jake Odorizzi’s outing by belting a one-out solo shot in the sixth inning. That would be his only hit of the afternoon. The 25-year-old has caught fire recently, hitting an absurd .474 during his five-game hitting streak. If he had enough at-bats to qualify, Mancini's .321 average would be fourth-highest in the American League.

Jonathan Schoop provided a pair of hits Sunday in the Orioles’ win over Tampa Bay.

Schoop singled to center field in the first before smacking a 378-foot homer off Chase Whitley to knot the game at five in the eighth inning. He was also hit twice, including once with the bases-loaded in the ninth inning. The 25-year-old has been a beast offensively, delivering 15 homers with a .295 average over 268 at-bats this season.
Jun 25 - 5:15 PM

Evan Longoria drilled his 12th homer Sunday in the Rays’ loss to Baltimore.

Longoria launched a three-run homer off Chris Tillman in the fifth inning for his only hit of the afternoon. It was Longoria’s ninth homer in 66 lifetime at-bats off Tillman. Longoria has rediscovered his power stroke with two homers and eight RBI over his last three games, though his season average still sits at a disappointing .253.
Jun 25 - 5:13 PM

Corey Dickerson registered two hits Sunday in the Rays’ loss to the Orioles.

Dickerson singled twice and scored on Evan Longoria’s three-run homer in the fifth inning. He’s had another strong month offensively, batting a robust .302 with five homers in 86 June at-bats. The 28-year-old has had a breakout year for the Rays and looks poised to make his first All-Star team later this summer.

Brewers optioned OF Lewis Brinson to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Brinson got a taste of the major leagues, but struggled mightily in his limited action, hitting just .100/.206/.167 with no RBI and a 13/3 K/BB ratio in 34 plate appearances.
Jun 25 - 5:12 PM

Jake Odorizzi turned in a so-so outing Sunday against the Orioles, allowing seven hits, four runs and a walk over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision.

He finished with five strikeouts. Sunday was a Jekyll and Hyde act for Odorizzi, who spent the afternoon alternating between excellent and awful. Odorizzi served up two homers—one to Caleb Joseph and Trey Mancini—though luckily both were solo shots. The right-hander has won just one of his last seven starts. His next outing will come Saturday against the same Orioles club he just faced.
Jun 25 - 5:10 PM

Brewers optioned C Jett Bandy to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

With Sunday's addition of Stephen Vogt, there's no room for the Brewers to carry three catchers and Bandy has been outplayed by Manny Pina. Bandy hit just .211/.287/.380 with six homers, 18 RBI and a 41/12 K/BB ratio in 157 plate appearances with the Brewers.
Jun 25 - 5:10 PM

Chris Tillman didn’t have it Sunday against the Rays, relinquishing eight hits and five runs (four earned) over 4 1/3 lackluster innings in a no-decision.

He registered five strikeouts while yielding a pair of free passes. Things were going alright for Tillman until Evan Longoria burned him for a three-run bomb in the fifth inning. Tillman also committed a throwing error that led to a run in the fourth. The right-hander has produced a hideous 8.39 ERA this year and hasn’t won since his season debut on May 7. He’ll get another stab at the Rays next Friday at Camden Yards.
