Cameron Maybin finished 2-for-4 with three runs scored and two stolen bases to lead the Angels to a 5-2 win over the Marlins on Saturday.

Maybin had a single and a triple -- his first triple this season -- in the game, and he twice victimized Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto for stolen bases. He's now got 12 steals in 13 tries, second-most in the American League. He's hitting .247/.369/.380 overall, including batting .280 in the month of May.

Yoenis Cespedes was held out of Saturday's rehab game for High-A St. Lucie due to right quad soreness.

He suffered the injury while running the bases in a rehab game on Friday night. The Mets are hoping it's only a minor setback as Cespedes is tentatively expected to resume batting practice on Tuesday. A hamstring injury has sidelined Cespedes since late April.

Marcell Ozuna went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.

The homer snapped a bit of a drought for Ozuna, who hadn't homered since May 8 before his ninth-inning blast. It was his 12th of the season, giving him 34 RBI, both good enough to appear on National League leaderboards. The 26-year-old is hitting a robust .311/.385/.559 in his 47 games this year.

White Sox optioned RHP Tyler Danish to Triple-A Charlotte.

Danish was effectively wild in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, issuing six walks over five shutout innings against the Tigers for his first career win. The 22-year-old should get another shot later this year.
May 27 - 9:45 PM

Andrelton Simmons went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's win over the Marlins.

Simmons plated a run with a ground out and later hit a ground-rule RBI double to pad the Angels' lead. He's now got a nine-game hitting streak going, during which he's 17-for-37 with seven multi-hit games. The torrid stretch has the normally defense-first shortstop's line up to .283/.341/.398 overall.
May 27 - 9:44 PM

Kolten Wong was a late scratch Saturday against the Rockies.

No reason was given for his absence, though it's possible Wong aggravated an elbow injury that was bothering him earlier in the week. Greg Garcia drew the start at second base. We'll let you know as soon as the Cardinals update his status.
May 27 - 9:40 PM

Mike Trout went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's win over the Marlins.

Trout gave the Angels an early lead with his 16th homer of the season in the first inning. He leads the league with those 16 homers, and he's also at the top of the leaderboard in batting average (.342) and runs scored (36), among others. His 36 RBI are an embarrassing fourth in the league, unfortunately.
May 27 - 9:39 PM

Vance Worley allowed two runs over five innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.

Worley gave up just two hits on the afternoon, but his Marlins teammates couldn't muster enough offense to keep the right-hander from suffering the loss. Still, it was a step forward from Worley's subpar debut against the Dodgers his last time out, lowering his ERA from 6.75 to 5.00. The 29-year-old will continue to search for his first win of the season Thursday when he faces the Diamondbacks.
