Mike Napoli slugged a two-run homer, drew two walks, and scored two runs in Friday's 7-5 win over the Rays.

Napoli took Jake McGee deep to the Monster Seats in the bottom of the seventh to give the Red Sox the lead. The veteran slugger hung around through Friday's trade deadline, but he's still a candidate to be moved in August. The 33-year-old is batting .210 with 13 home runs and a .704 OPS over 93 games this season.

Eduardo Rodriguez yielded three runs over five innings Friday in a no-decision against the Rays.

Rodriguez really struggled with his control, walking a career-high four batters while throwing just 64 out of 110 pitches for strikes. But he managed to avoid major damage and ultimately kept the Red Sox in the ballgame. The 22-year-old has had some ups and downs during his rookie season and owns a 4.34 ERA and 56/24 K/BB ratio in 66 1/3 innings across 12 starts. He'll get the Yankees next week on the road.
Jul 31 - 11:03 PM

Erasmo Ramirez gave up four runs (one earned) over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Red Sox.

Three of the runs scored in the first inning, but they were all unearned due to some shaky defense behind him. Ramirez was in line for the win before the Red Sox plate two runs in the top of the seventh. All told, Ramirez gave up five hits and two walks while striking out six batters. The 29-year-old now owns a 3.61 ERA and 78/28 K/BB ratio over 97 1/3 innings this season. He'll face the White Sox on the road next week.
Jul 31 - 11:02 PM

Koji Uehara tossed a scoreless ninth inning Friday against the Rays for his 23rd save of the season.

Uehara worked around a leadoff walk and struck out two in the frame. The 40-year-old has converted 13 straight save opportunities and owns a 2.39 ERA and 44/7 K/BB ratio over 37 2/3 innings on the year.
Jul 31 - 11:01 PM

Alejandro De Aza went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI singles and a run scored Friday against the Rays.

De Aza has made the most of his time in Boston, hitting .304 with 14 extra-base hits (including three home runs), 21 RBI, three steals, and 16 runs scored over 43 games. He's a strong possibility to be dealt at some point in August.
Jul 31 - 11:00 PM

Steven Souza went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

Souza reached on an infield single in the second inning to drive home his first run since returning from the disabled list. The 26-year-old has hit safely in four straight games, but he's hitting just .212 with a .299 on-base percentage and continues to have real issues with the strikeout. Fortunately for fantasy owners, he has shown enough pop and speed to be remain relevant.

Rays optioned OF Mikie Mahtook to Triple-A Durham.

The 25-year-old gets sent out after one of his best games of the season, as the outfielder went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored on Friday. He'll continue to function as organizational outfield depth for the Rays.
Jul 31 - 10:56 PM

Manny Machado blasted his 22nd home run of the season on Friday, powering the Orioles to a come-from-behind 8-7 victory over the Tigers.

The Orioles fell behind 6-0 after the first four innings, but never gave up. Adam Jones clobbered a three-run homer in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to two runs, then Machado's two-run shot in the sixth put the O's on top to stay. Machado finished the night 2-for-3 plus a walk with a pair of runs scored and two RBI. He is now slashing a mighty impressive .293/.364/.518 with 22 homers and 54 RBI on the year.
