Braves pitching prospect Tyrell Jenkins could be recalled to make his major league debut on Monday versus the Mets.

It's expected to be either Jenkins or Mike Foltynewicz replacing Bud Norris in the rotation. Jenkins, 23, holds a 1.71 ERA and 16/10 K/BB ratio over his first 21 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett this season, while Foltynewicz has posted a 2.05 ERA and 20/14 K/BB ratio across 22 frames.

Bud Norris will be available in relief on Friday and could be replaced in the Braves' rotation.

Nothing is official yet, but it appear either Mike Foltynewicz or Tyrell Jenkins will assume Norris' rotation spot on Monday against the Mets. The right-hander holds a 8.74 ERA and 1.99 WHIP over his first five starts, so the move doesn't come as a surprise. Jenkins would be making his major league debut if he's chosen.

Ethier was injured six weeks ago when he fouled a ball off his shin during a spring training game. He's still using crutches to get around and isn't expected back until June.

Cameron Maybin (wrists, shoulder) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Friday.

Maybin is working his way back from a hairline fracture in his right wrist and has had two setbacks when he was hit by a pitch on his left wrist and also when he hurt his shoulder on a dive. He's been alternating between playing center field and serving as a designated hitter, and Tigers manager Brad Ausmus indicated Maybin still isn't totally comfortable when throwing. "The bigger concern is being able to throw," Ausmus said. "He’s gotta play the field." Maybin will DH on Friday.

He's getting a day off with the Cubs throwing lefty Jon Lester. Drew Stubbs is in center field and batting eighth.

Jason Motte (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday.

Motte is working his way back from a strained right shoulder and appears to be making progress. It seems like he should be ready to begin a rehab assignment before long.

Miguel Castro (shoulder) threw 25 pitches on flat ground Wednesday.

Castro has missed the last week with shoulder inflammation, but he's eligible to return on Monday and could be back by then or shortly after. "I was a little afraid about the injury at first," Castro said, "but now that I have been throwing, and it's been feeling better, I feel good."

Kris Bryant (ankle) is not in the Cubs' lineup on Friday.

Bryant turned his right ankle on Thursday and underwent a precautionary MRI, but the results confirmed that the sprain is minor. Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune says the third baseman "may miss a couple days," but adds that the Cubs are "not worried" about the injury. Javier Baez is filling in at the hot corner on Friday.
