Marlins acquired OF Braxton Lee and RHP Ethan Clark from the Rays for SS Adeiny Hechavarria.

This deal was mostly about clearing salary for Miami. Lee, 23, was batting .318/.387/.391 with two homers and 12 steals through 66 games this season in Double-A. He's not a highly-regarded prospect and likely has the ceiling of a reserve outfielder.

Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports that the Rays are set to acquire Adeiny Hechavarria from the Marlins for minor league outfielder Braxton Lee and right-hander Ethan Clark.

The Rays are expected to cover the remainder of Hechavarria's $4.35 million salary for this season. The 28-year-old has been sidelined for over a month with an oblique injury, but he was slated to make his return this week. He'll presumably take over as the primary shortstop for the Rays. Hechavarria, who is under team control through 2018, is a .255/.291/.337 hitter in the majors.

Rangers activated LHP Cole Hamels from the 10-day disabled list.

Hamels, out since early May with a right oblique strain, allowed one run in 8 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts and two walks through two minor league rehab starts. He'll make his return to the Rangers' rotation Monday against the Indians.
Jun 26 - 3:22 PM

Indians optioned RHP Shawn Armstrong to Triple-A Columbus.

Armstrong has already been up and down a few times this season. The 26-year-old has compiled a 5.02 ERA and 14/6 K/BB ratio over 14 1/3 innings along the way.
Jun 26 - 3:19 PM

Indians optioned OF Daniel Robertson to Triple-A Columbus.

He'll head back down to the minors with Michael Brantley and Brandon Guyer coming off the disabled list. Robertson has appeared in 32 games with the Indians while batting .225/.287/.338 with one homer and seven RBI.
Jun 26 - 3:16 PM

Indians activated OF Brandon Guyer from the 10-day disabled list.

Guyer, out since mid-May with a left wrist sprain, went 4-for-20 (.267) with a homer and four hit-by-pitches over six rehab games with Triple-A Columbus. The 31-year-old was batting just .182/.237/.291 over 60 plate appearances prior to hitting the DL.
