Royals placed RHP Greg Holland on the 15-day disabled list with a right pectoral strain.

Holland hasn't allowed a run in four appearances this season, but must have incurred the injury during Friday's appearance. Wade Davis will presumably handle the ninth-inning gig while Holland is sidelined and is a tremendous addition in any mixed leagues where he's unowned.

Kevin Kiermaier is not in the Rays starting lineup on Saturday.

The outfielder is batting an illness and is feeling a bit under the weather. He should be ready to return to the lineup in a day or two.
Apr 18 - 3:31 PM

Shane Victorino was scratched from the Red Sox lineup on Saturday due to sore ribs.

Victorino smashed into the outfield wall on Friday trying to take a home run away from Caleb Joseph, which caused the injury. He should be able to return to active duty in a day or two.
Apr 18 - 3:27 PM

Matt Holliday was removed from Saturday's game against the Reds in the second inning due to mild tightness in his back.

The Cardinals are calling his early exit purely precautionary. It wouldn't be surprising to see the veteran outfielder get a day of rest on Sunday as well, but the team should have an update on his status after the game.
Apr 18 - 2:45 PM

Pirates recalled OF Jaff Decker from his minor league rehab assignment, optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Decker had a chance to compete for a reserve outfielder role with the Pirates during the spring, but a left calf strain put an end to that dream. He should get an opportunity with the big league club at some point during the 2015 campaign.
Apr 18 - 2:40 PM

Marlins claimed LHP Matt Tracy off waivers from the Marlins.

Tracy was designated for assignment by the Yankees last week after appearing in one game as an emergency reliever with the big league club. He'll be nothing more than organizational depth in Miami.
Apr 18 - 2:09 PM

Orioles activated INF Jimmy Paredes from the 15-day disabled list.

Paredes is taking the place of Jonathan Schoop on the active roster who was placed on the disabled list on Saturday with a knee injury. He'll function in a utility role for the O's.
Apr 18 - 1:14 PM

Orioles placed INF Jonathan Schoop on the 15-day disabled list with a Grade 1 PCL tear in his left knee.

Schoop also has a sprained MCL. He sustained the injury in Friday's game from a hard slide by Pablo Sandoval at second base. The O's are encouraged that there was no damage to his ACL and are optimistic that he'll be able to return before the end of the regular season. Ryan Flaherty and Everth Cabrera should both see regular playing time in Baltimore's middle infield for now.
