Diamondbacks acquired C Welington Castillo, RHP Dominic Leone, INF Jack Reinheimer and OF Gabby Guerrero from the Mariners for OF Mark Trumbo and LHP Vidal Nuno.

Castillo should step in and start right away after the loss of Tuffy Gosewisch in Arizona. The Diamondbacks expressed some interest in the 28-year-old this offseason before the Cubs dealt him to the Mariners last month. Castillo has had a slow start at the dish but should be added in NL-only and deep two-catcher leagues for his decent bat.

Mariners acquired LHP Vidal Nuno and OF Mark Trumbo from the Diamondbacks for C Welington Castillo, RHP Dominic Leone, INF Jack Reinheimer and OF Gabby Guerrero.

Nuno has appeared in just three games with the Diamondbacks this season but posted a 3.76 ERA in 14 starts down the stretch in 2014. It's unclear in what role the Mariners foresee using the southpaw, but he should provide some rotation depth at the least.

Mariners acquired OF Mark Trumbo and LHP Vidal Nuno from the Diamondbacks for C Welington Castillo, RHP Dominic Leone, INF Jack Reinheimer and OF Gabby Guerrero.

The big name moving in this deal is Trumbo, who has 118 homers in 594 games in the major leagues. The 29-year-old is hitting just. 259/.299/.506 this season but brings some thump to a struggling Mariners club. The M's will have control of Trumbo through the 2016 season.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports the Mariners have acquired outfielder Mark Trumbo from the Diamondbacks.

It's unclear at this point what the Mariners would give up in a potential deal. Trumbo was acquired from the Angels in 2013 in a three-team trade that sent Adam Eaton and Tyler Skaggs out of the Diamondbacks organization. The club has a wealth of corner outfielders and corner infielders, making Trumbo expendable. More should be known about the reported trade shortly.

Yasmany Tomas went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored as the Diamondbacks came back to edge the Braves 9-8 on Wednesday.

Tomas and his teammates found themselves trailing 6-0 by the second inning, but the offense found a way to come all the way back. Tomas played a big part in that, contributing an RBI single in the three-run seventh inning and adding a double and a single in the contest. If he wasn't ready for the majors earlier this season he certainly is now, as the 24-year-old is batting .331/.364/.414 through his first 38 games in the bigs.

Freddie Freeman homered twice and collected four RBI in Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

The Braves ended up losing the contest, but it was no fault of Freeman's. The first baseman hit a three-run shot off Diamondbacks starter Rubby De La Rosa in the second inning before launching a solo shot in the fourth. He's been one of the Braves' sole sources of offense since the season began, but Freeman is still hitting .299/.362/.525 with 10 homers, 33 RBI and 35 runs scored despite having little help around him in the lineup.
Jun 3 - 7:06 PM

Rubby De La Rosa was battered by the Braves on Wednesday, allowing seven runs over five innings but escaping with a no-decision.

The Diamondbacks offense bailed out the right-hander, who gave up two home runs among his nine hits allowed. On the bright side, De La Rosa struck out eight in the effort. He's now failed to factor in the decision in each of his last four starts, watching his ERA rise to 5.09 with Wednesday's outing. He throws hard but is prone to some hard contact as well, and it won't get any easier for De La Rosa when he takes on the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Monday.
Jun 3 - 7:03 PM

Mike Foltynewicz allowed five runs -- four earned -- on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings, taking a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.

Foltynewicz was actually in line for an undeserved win before the D'backs came back against the Braves' bullpen. It certainly wasn't his best effort, as he gave up a home run among his eight hits and walked two more, striking out five. The right-hander has still won just once in his last five starts. He'll take a 4.29 ERA and 1.38 WHIP into Tuesday's contest with the Padres.
