Diamondbacks recalled RHP Silvino Bracho from Triple-A Reno.

He's taking the spot of Jeremy Hazelbaker, who was optioned to Triple-A after Friday night's game. This will be Bracho's fifth stint in the big leagues this year. He hasn't had much luck so far, compiling an 8.53 ERA in seven appearances for the D'Backs.

Tyler Anderson will start Sunday against the Dodgers.

German Marquez was scheduled to go Sunday, but instead he'll start Monday against the Giants. Anderson's role has been unclear since coming off the disabled list earlier this week. He pitched an inning of relief on Thursday, though the majority of his outings this year have come as a starter. He's fared poorly against the Dodgers this year, going 0-3 with a 5.74 ERA in three starts.

Jason Vargas held the Blue Jays to two runs in seven innings to lead his club to a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

All the damage came on solo home runs by Troy Tulowitzki and Kevin Pillar. Vargas surrendered eight hits, struck out just two batters and did not issue any free passes in the ballgame. He has been one of the season's biggest surprises thus far. He improves to 11-3 with a marvelous 2.29 ERA and 1.13 WHIP through 15 starts. He has accumulated 70 strikeouts and 20 walks in 94 1/3 innings.

Kelvin Herrera notched a save against the Blue Jays on Saturday by firing a scoreless ninth inning to protect a one-run lead.

He gave up a two-out single to Troy Tulowitzki but grounded out Kevin Pillar to slam the door. He struck out one batter in the inning. The Royals' flame-throwing closer has not been nearly as dominant as in past seasons but has gotten the job done nonetheless. He has 18 saves with a 4.50 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 31 innings. He has given up seven home runs already in 2017.

Eric Hosmer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

He went yard with the bases empty against starter Marco Estrada in the fourth inning to put his team ahead 2-1. Hosmer has an even .300 batting average with nine homers, 40 runs and 31 RBI. He's chipped in three stolen bases without getting caught.
