Seth Lugo (elbow) allowed three runs over six innings Sunday in his latest rehab start with Double-A Binghamton.

Lugo allowed eight hits and walked two while striking out seven. He threw 55 out of 79 pitches for strikes. Lugo has been out all year while rehabbing from a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow, but he could be ready to join the Mets soon.

James Shields (lat) will begin a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Triple-A Charlotte.

Shields made it through a simulated game Monday with no issues. It's unclear if he'll need more than one start in the minors before rejoining the White Sox. Shields had a 1.62 ERA through three starts before hitting the DL with a lat strain last month.

Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker said J.A. Happ (elbow) was "very good" in his side session on Sunday.

Happ gave up three runs on seven hits over three innings last Thursday in a rehab start with High-A Dunedin, but he could return as soon as Tuesday against the Reds. The southpaw could be on a limited pitch count for his return. Happ has been out since mid-April with left elbow inflammation.

Nelson Cruz will start in right field Monday against the Rockies.

Cruz will start in the outfield with the DH unavailable under National League rules. Ben Gamel will start in left field while Guillermo Heredia will take a seat.

Dodgers transferred RHP Brock Stewart from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot for Brandon Morrow on the 40-man roster. Stewart began the year on the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis and only recently began a minor league rehab assignment. The move shouldn't impact his timetable.

Dodgers purchased the contract of RHP Brandon Morrow from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

He'll take the place of the injured Alex Wood (SC joint inflammation) on the active roster. Morrow has posted a 5.71 ERA over 17 relief appearances in Triple-A this year, but he has allowed just two runs over 9 1/3 innings of work this month. Morrow has mostly pitched as a starter in the majors, but he'll pitch in relief with the Dodgers.

Adam Jones (ankle, hip) has been scratched from Monday's lineup against the Yankees.

Jones was in the original lineup, but he apparently didn't feel 100 percent during his morning workout. Consider him day-to-day. Joey Rickard will cover center field duties again.

Dodgers placed LHP Alex Wood on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 28, with left SC joint inflammation.

That's a bummer. Wood has been told that he can pitch through the issue, so it doesn't sound overly serious, but the Dodgers don't want to take any chances. There's no clear timetable for his return at the moment. Hyun-Jin Ryu is likely to take his place in the rotation for now.
