Wizards waive F Danuel House.

The Wizards needed to waive a player to make room for Brandon Jennings. House has played a grand total of one minute this year and has dealt with a wrist injury. The 23-year-old forward is not a lock to get a 10-day deal elsewhere.

Ty Lawson (illness) is questionable to face the Nets on Wednesday night.

He is dealing with a stomach bug and is likely going to be a game-time call. This game has a very late start time at 10:30 EST, so we likely won't have anything definitive until around 9:00. If Lawson is out, that means Darren Collison won't have a backup and would get huge minutes. Arron Afflalo did log some backup PG minutes the last time Lawson was out, but he's still not a fantasy option. Collison is already a very strong play, so Lawson being questionable is just an added bonus.

Joel Embiid (knee) has been ruled out for rest of the season.

"The assessment of Monday's follow-up MRI of Joel Embiid's left knee appears to reveal that the area affected by the bone bruise has improved significantly, while the previously identified meniscus tear appears more pronounced in this most recent scan," 76ers Chief Medical Director Jonathan Glashow said. The 76ers will continue to work with specialists on Embiid's knee while the team continues to talk about his long-term health. With Embiid out, Jahlil Okafor and Richaun Holmes will see minutes at center and have some value in standard leagues. Dario Saric and Robert Covington have also stepped up.

J.R. Smith (thumb) was getting shots up at Wednesday's shootaround in Boston.

He is traveling with the team and is getting closer to his return. On the TNT broadcast from Monday, Smith said he was hopeful to return in a couple weeks, but said he hasn't asked the doctors much because he doesn't want to get bad news. His return means the playing time for Kyle Korver and Iman Shumpert should drop.

K.J. McDaniels went through his second full practice on Tuesday.

Excluding garbage time, coach Kenny Atkinson did not want to play McDaniels over the weekend due to not going through a practice, but now there is a chance McDaniels gets out there against the Kings on Wednesday based on Atkinson's comments. "It’s a good chance for the coaches to get a feel for who is this guy, what can he do and how can help us where we can put him out," Atkinson said. He's still only a stash in very deep leagues.

Paul Zipser (ankle) went through a full practice on Wednesday and his status is unclear for Thursday against the Warriors.

The Bulls parted ways with Doug McDermott because they wanted to get a look at guys like Denzel Valentine and Zipser. If Zipser is a go, it could take minutes away from Valentine and all the other guards not named Dwyane Wade or Jimmy Butler. Zipser's upside isn't the greatest.
Mar 1 - 2:39 PM

Michael Carter-Williams (knee) went through a full practice on Wednesday.

His status is still unclear for Thursday against the Warriors. MCW's role is even more unclear with Rajon Rondo playing well and the Bulls wanting to give minutes to Cameron Payne. Carter-Williams can remain on the wire just about everywhere.
Mar 1 - 2:36 PM

The Cavs will waive Jordan McRae.

This has been the story since the buyout talks heated up for Andrew Bogut and Deron Williams. Once the moves become official, McRae will become a free agent and would likely get some interest on a 10-day deal. If he lands on a really bad team, he could be an interesting target in deep leagues.
